Pattern Giveaway Preamble

So, my 29th Birthday came and went. 30 is next. Before I know it I’ll be 60! … No, I’m serious. I want to thank everyone again for wishing me a happy birthday! Anyway, on May 5, 2012 I made a decision that would change my life. I bought this amazing Rarity plush:


From that time I wanted to make an awesome pony plush! My original idea was to make a pattern others could use. At the time I didn’t have a clue how difficult it truly was and honestly felt like giving up on a number of occasions. When I didn’t feel like giving up, I felt stagnant and slow. I imagine a lot of artisans are familiar with that feeling. I’m still fall far behind and acknowledge I’m not as good as many plush artisans out there, but having received good feedback form Fluttershy, I’m finally ready to make my next big move.

Eventually I want to start a family of my own, I even have someone particular in mind if we deem ourselves mutually willing in due time, the Lord’s will be done! But I recognize that takes a little more money than could be made at my snail pace plushing. If I want to continue doing this for a living, and I’d love to , I need to reach out and get out of my comfort zone. I want to keep improving my craft! I honestly don’t expect my pattern to be super popular, but I figure I should at least try! That way, if it doesn’t sell well, then at least I’ll know ahead of time that I should try something different.

Nevertheless, if all goes well, I plan to continue making plushies on commission as I have the time, so always feel free to ask. I just want to be able to make and develop new things and tutorials along with refining the other things I have, and that of course takes time, which would be in short supply with a family to manage. (Some have asked for an LED Luna tutorial which would be fun to make. Also, light bulbs, _{even if less so.} )

I’m also doing this to thank the almost 2,000 watchers that have at least in some way valued my work enough to see more. I’m not sure how many people have ever noticed on my page that, “I do plan to distribute my patterns and embroidery files in the indefinite future.” I never made the claim I’d never sell my pattern, because this was planned for a long time coming. So thank you for sticking with me, and please continue to do so!

I also want to thank all my commissioners and buyers up to this point for their trust in me to deliver something they felt worth their dime. Without them, I would’ve given this up long ago.

Most of you are also probably aware that will soon be selling a pattern herself! I can’t deny that caught me off guard a bit being so close to my birthday and 2K watchers. Nevertheless, I don’t want my giveaway to be perceived as a jest or offense, so I’m addressing this here and now. She was one of three awesome plush makers generous enough to trade with me so far after all. I still have a couple of other trades in the works I hope to finish and start eventually as well!

Furthermore, I will be having an actual plush giveaway as I’ve been mentioning, but this is the thing I wanted to be a sudden surprise, (even if I’m sure most people probably aren’t as interested than the plush giveaway itself ^^’). But this giveaway will play a part in that giveaway as well.
