Description
I wanted something that allowed me to turn the shed’s outside light on or off via my cell phone’s Wi-Fi connection to our local network without some closed third-party paid platform. So I put together an Arduino web server that just controls a relay. Pretty simple, but I like how it turned out. Wish I didn't have to use two power supplies though, as the relay I had from a microwave oven was 12V, I didn't really care to slap in a linear regulator, and didn't want to rely on Arduino's on-board regulator. So that's my excuse for using two supplies. ^^
The light itself was gifted to us from our neighbor, which is awesome!
It actually has come in handy, been fairly reliable too. Only becomes unresponsive every once in a while, like after electrical storms, in which it just needs to be power cycled. (Probably a power supply related issue that I might look into later.)
