This is a very very nice remodeling of the Z 95 headhunter more sleek probably more maneuverable too if I were to maybe be a little honest it reminds me of other starfighters from other sci-fi genersbecause of its sleekness but all in all looks very impressive (I don't like100 word minimum when I don't have much to say) Lala Lala Lala Lala Lala Lala Lala Lala Lala Lala utini utini utini utini llama llama llama llama llama llama llama llama llama llama llama llama llama llama llama llama llama lama lama lama lama sorry just filling in some blanks

Very nice!

Now, after putting my teeny-tiny nit-pick hat on...

Generally if I'd put turbine fans on a ship I'd be trying to show them moving. That said, perhaps you're thinking the engine is a hybrid design and only switches those on for cooling when in an atmosphere, which'd be completely legit, although I'd have then had the fans behind the same kinds of flap doors that the X-wing uses.

I really like the wings - having the curved leading edge and the rounded tips puts this between the ARC-170 and the X-wing, so, some of the nice design elements from prequel and TOT.

Speaking of the ARC-170, I'd have been really tempted to undersling the guns. As with the Klingon Kia of Prey and the A-10, underslung weapons visually implies weight, and therefore extra dakka. Also, the Z-95 is almost universally described as having triple blasters, which I'd always visualised as being basically a GAU-19 ( i.ytimg.com/vi/yZcC-NgOxM4/max… ) but Star Wars style. Again, not a concern if you're not sticking to the canon descriptions.

The torpedo tubes look very small.

I'd probably have had the secondary 'air' intake curve under - where they are implies that the main strucural member for the engine and wing wounting passes directly through a conduit.

There doesn't seem to be an astromech slot, which would put it in conflict with canon sources on the design. That might not be a massive concern, mind you.

But, after removing the nit-pick hat, it's a lovely piece. There's a strong sense of movement, you can hear the howl of it. Textures are great - it looks washed and cared for but not molly-coddled. I'm not sure why the cockpit canopy would be blue but it does visually make it a whole piece, so, she's got a kind of WW2 bubble canopy thing going on, and I like that just dandy. I think what I am seeing is the fuselage widening after the nose, which sorta makes it have a droop snoot look, but that works too.
If it were the cover art on a kit box, my eye would be drawn with an intake of breathe and an 'ooh, wassat?'

One of your nicest pieces and, if it means anything, just got added to my rotating wallpaper stack.

If you have a plan view, perhaps in solid wireframe, I'd love to do a version for my fighters gallery, with your permission and your commissioner's permission, of course.

I like the design but I have one nit pick that is common for many of the star fighter ships from star wars.  The wing tip mounted cannons.
If the cannons were mounted on the main body I would have nothing bad to say but that is my only complaint.

Nice design.

I like the idea of this as a "modern version", meaning produced off the line post-ROTJ, as an interceptor.  No astromech, so perhaps no hyperdrive, and the intake to be used in atmosphere; therefore, a pure planetary defence interceptor to be used by New Republic planets.  As it was recently produced, it would comparable in capabilities to the newest X-Wings or TIEs and can hold its own.  Also, given the aforementioned lack of hyperdrive and 'mech, it would be cheaper and therefore more attractive to budget conscious member-states.

Yeah I guess that being less capable Xwings would be doing all the long runs and complex missions while this stayed rather close to its point of origin.

Zactly!  If I were a planetary governor, I would be more concerned with defence than strike capability.  Sure, I would want some X-Wings or the like for recon, but Governor BaronNeutron isn't trying to attack anyone!  He wants to protect his constituency, kiss alien babies, and get re-elected!  It stands to reason that astromechs and hyperdrive cost money, so if I can buy more super awesome fighter to keep close, that is what will matter if the Empire attacks.

Awe....I love astromechs!   Maybe there is an upgradable module aft of the cockpit where you can order the 'mech slot?

I can see the connections to the X-Wing in this, so in that regard it works well.

Man, I like this design a heck of a lot better than the one I'm used to. I like the angular cockpit much more than the rounder one; it makes the ship look like something I would actually buy if I were looking for a starfighter.

Ha so much effort.... The impact of the EU the world building experience.... In vain.... Ha disney facepalm.. erasing the entire EU including KotOR???? To create episode VII.... As much as I hate the Eu post episode VI for being too old or based upon some shitty old comic (I kinda love dark empire for the idea they had but the comic itself is nah.. it is shit.)

I do think that was not worth the reboot, nah.. Star wars movies sucks today.... because we have already done them... A war/adventure movie in a star wars universe? Why not.. the closest thing to this we actually have is rogue 1 (faceplam..) and I do not give a shit about this movie let's be honest.

And here you are rediigning SW ship for the movie we should have have, the rfesh and new sci-fi movie redifining the star wars universe.......

Well it's not that the EU has been wiped out of existence :) I think they just confirmed some old characters, and I'm pretty sure they will get some more just for the sake of nostalgia. I can't say that VII was an amazing movie because it played too safe, but Rogue One looks like a solid entry because it creates a lot of new stuff that actually makes sense (origins of Death Star, Rebel dropships, new TIEs and trooper special forces) and might even turn out better than the old extended universe.
From a market perspective most of the old games and comic books are really average and borderline silly (horse-head rebel pilot or a jedi with lightsabers in his knees) and wouldn't really sell in the modern media.
Z-95 could very well appear in something because it is still canon with the first iteration shown in the Clone Wars series.

Yhea people are pissed off by disney decision including the writters !

And yeha disney love to abuse of our nostalgia... Episode VII is not just an empty and lazy movie, it is a bad movie disguise as good one.
The action scene suck, no high concept, but they film it in a particular fancy way to make it look fancy, and it is not like a slow-mo or a zoom insinting on the action,  it is just fancy camera mooves, their good idea and good concept are throwned out of a window one way or another, no really good score sticking in your head, too much copy kill the copy, they try to make it the giving to the next generation, wich gave us a shit ton of actor lacking in carisma.... They intend to make Kylo Ren a tragic character which diminish the threat of the ennemy, and make it his conversion to the light side previsible... Character interaction suck.....

The camera is almost in extreme close-up to hide their lack of background, the filter is yellow (bluuuurrrrp), they are not fucking capble of using their camera to tell a story...  (See how the clever use of a camera you can use to mean something without a word....) Harisson Ford lasted to the end even if he was kill me I do not want to play in a star wars movie anymore...
The pacing is shit, like total shit... The movie never breath or stop like in mad-max fury road.... With the same eye-tracking technic in the action scene to hide their lack of originality.... Making us regret to welcome fury road eiteh rlike a super good movie or a decent meh movie....
+It drive the characters toward the end fast enough so we do not notice the sheer amount of emptyness in this movie...
And yeha it is one of this movie where character do not drive the plot via there interaction togather and the world surhouding them, it is one of this movie where the movie is like :
"MOVE TEH PLOT MOVE THE PLOT MOVE THE PLOT THE PLOT, INSERT SOME RANDOM EVENT THAT MAKE NO SENS HERE JUST TO MOOVE THE MOTEHRFREAKIN PLOT !!!!"

In the end only that douchbag of lucas help by spielberg could make a good star wars movies in our age.. That age that live after the lord of the ring and matrix....

Episode VIII seem to be as empty as the previous one... It is basicly episode V (And the original episode V was as boring as episode II, there is just so much waiting sequence..... I mean you are going to wait for your bad traging end..) Combined with what gave us the previous movie even if it is not the same dude behind... Arfff + they have already began episode V in the previous one....

They pretty much ruined all my hope for having better stuff than in the shitty old Eu of this era at this point.... They made it.. They made worse than the old stuff.....
.......................................
They are genius indeed.... Genius at being bad......

I've got to say, loving this version of the Headhunter. It has both a sleek and a rugged look to it.

Quick question though: did you uses both Clone Wars and The Force Awaken elements to make this?

if so, I would say it is the best of both worlds. You have combined the simple functionality of the Clone Wars and the aesthetically pleasing lines of the new era into a classic design.

Are you planning to do similar redesigns to other ships? I would love to see more work like this.

Yeah I will surely work on more classic designs. This one was based on the Clone Wars era shape with details and overal style based on the original trilogy. I didn't go with precise shapes or dimensions and just reworked the entire thing.
I was out of town and didn't have access to my computer but I will resume work on the new ship from Rogue One and show it in a few days. After that I'll get back to lesser known designs.

Another well-thought out design. You incorporated more bigger parts for an older fighter like the Z-95, bringing back the clunky-ness and the Star Wars-Spirit of Design.

Oh yeah that's the most popular version that I'm aware of. It's not a bad design but I'm just not a fan of lifting parts directly from other models such as the nose and blasters in this one. I guess that it's more about time and resources :)
