Ruthless Gravity by AdamBurn Ruthless Gravity by AdamBurn

So here is the first of pieces I did for the new Luminarium pack 5th Dimension. Its a rather crazy concept of an area of space subjected to gravity and the "planets" are help up in place by their giant gravity defying cores which leak hot plasma. This image went trough quite a few remakes and tweaks but finally got to this final image. Very different and interesting to work on.

Enjoy and dont forget to visit the Luminarium to see the whole exhibit

An amazing piece of Space art with wonderful matching colours and an awesome setting! The ruthless gravitational magic also seems to attract the viewer! ( Suggested by Angelstorm-82 and Featured by gucken )

The ship at the bottom... It looks like the Normandy from Mass Effect.

This looks amazing. I have been sitting here staring at it for about an hour now, and trying to capture all the details. I have a feeling that I will be here for the rest of the afternoon. Great job! I would love to do a collab sometime if you are ever interested.

So F*cking cool :la: are those textures or old school hand drawn lines on that plasmic planet?

bit of both, first hand painted then added some textures over the top in places to add depth

If the planets crust was hit by something it would realign it, so maybe the one in the foreground use to be like the background planet but was hit by another mass, given time the planet would form another shard pointing downward, if this happened over and over you would get a very spiky planet haha.

Looks a bit like a space version of that famous painting with the dripping clockfaces. I'm curious where you got the influence for the spaceship, reminds me of Mass Effect.
