Homage to one of my favorite American landscape painters, Frederic Edwin Church. Was fun to paint this one.

Stunning work! The lighting is great, soft and warm and still looking real, and the detailed textures in the rocks, clouds and water make it look almost like a photo, or like a very detailed oil painting. Makes me wish I could go there, climb one of those mountains and watch this sunset for however long it will last. Amazing, and congratulations on the DD!

Very beautiful painting! I can almost feel the warmth of the sunset. Love the textures you added, too; gives the piece a very traditional art/painterly feeling, which is what I am thinking you were aiming for?

I like the contrast here. There's a beautiful sunset and landscape, but to the left there's unforgiving steep mountains and chasms.
