Rather than getting upset at Cheryl’s wanton snarkiness, the station master huffed a small chuckle, and finally handed over her station pass. “I suppose you would know better than an old coot like me, huh Dr. Masson?" His voice was accusatory and his eyes stared knowingly into hers.

Cheryl flinched at his words and then cursed the action internally. She swiftly snatched her boarding pass away and stuffed it into her dress pocket. She let her hands stay in them. It felt colder suddenly, and the warmth was a suitable remedy.

That was another thing Cheryl was glad about. Once she got to Reborn, people wouldn’t keep calling her that.
