Result of Boredom 2 by AceDarkfire Result of Boredom 2 by AceDarkfire
The model is still a Work in Progress, but as the title suggests, I was bored, so I decided to render this.

The model is only around 25%-30% complete, so it still has quite a ways to go, you can find the previous WIP renders in my gallery.

Anti-Aliasin could be better, but it isn't a serious render, so I don't really care too much, as you can still make out the current details.

It's weird how cool art can be if the creator was bored...

very cool model. The only thing that bugs me is the top turret. If you fire that thing, the ship would go into a crazy spin from the recoil in zero gravity.
Just a thought.
Im not trying to bash it, i love the model. Cool shape, and i love all the little gun turrets everywhere.

It isn't a turret... there are other renders of this ship in my gallery.

Yeah... if I bother to do so. I might just find a way to cheat doing a texture for it.

Wings3D has a pseudo-texturing (Called Snap Image) way that doesn't literally kill the program to unwrap (Like it's AutoUV will on this), the only thing wrong there is, it takes quite a bit of effort to line things up, and then there's all the really small details that'll come along.

Would there be an easy way available for you to identify identical polygons/model elements and just clone the texure over those small bits? That way youd only have so much to retexture every time you did a new model, if say all your prefabbed turrets were already done.

Only on the UV map itself, but to get to that point the model has to be unfolded, and at 99,500 polygons, (even cutting parts in half to essentially cut that number in half) just kills the AutoUV in Wings3D. I've been thinking about other programs, but outside of a questionably legal means, I have no way to get them.

this is only 30%? It's still extremely detailed. XD

It'll probably make every effort to kill my computer as it gets closer to complete.

At roughly 25-30% complete, it's sitting at just over 88,000 polygons.

Ah...I'm not sure how many polygons my models usually have, considering Sketchup doesn't tell me that kind of information. XD; It's probably rather low though.
