LowPoly Expedition by AceDarkfire LowPoly Expedition by AceDarkfire
Alright, I haven't done anything lowpoly in quite a while, and some of the models I have done for AT1:BT... are lacking. The Warhammer IIC is fine, in fact, it's basically my shining Low Poly model right now, with only slight modifications done by Sake, the Fenris/Ice Ferret was reworked a little bit, as I went to use it for a highpoly version... and it was loaded with modeling errors from the depths of hell which would have made texturing harder than hell to do.

Take, for instance, the Uller/Kit Fox I did for AT1:BT, the BEFORE model is from 2004, the AFTER model is completely redone from the ground up over the last day and a half.

BEFORE: 2390 tris.
AFTER: 1954 tris

It's (The AFTER) still being tweaked, I still need to add some additional things for animation purposes. By the time it's fully finished, it's either gonna still be below 2000 tri limit for the engine, or just slightly over.

In the end though, it depends entirely on :iconsake906: if he wants to use the modified version - of which the legs would be used for the resulting Puma/Adder, Cougar and Dragonfly (Iffy on that, not sure if it made the grade) models, since they essentially use the same leg structure with slight modifications among them.

Not bad...

What I'd like to see you do is include those funny looking vent "ears" you see on some pictures. Do you remember how it looked in the tech manual of mechcommander? Might look a little better than the set up you currently have. Just a thought. :)

Its easy to use the new one, animating a mech only takes a day or two, depending on if i reuse animation or not.

Dont worry about the texturing, it can be completely reworked (and i believe it needs to anyway, even the MadDog needs it)

The new model will as well let me make all the other following models based on this leg design to be a -bit- bigger than the current ones. So feel free to pass the model over msn whenever.

I thought you were OK with the results on the older kitfox though :D

Well, at the time I was ok with it, but seeing it compared to other models, such as the Warhammer IIC, it looked pretty bad. Even taking the Fenris's major modeling errors when I reworked it, the Fenris, done about the same time as the Uller/Kit Fox, the Kitfox lacked quite a bit.
