AML-561-X7 Kintaro - Rerender by AceDarkfire AML-561-X7 Kintaro - Rerender by AceDarkfire
Fiddling with Toxic settings again, and through some unintentional work, it looks a bit like an older black and white photograph with some the grainyness of the light settings.

This was also an experiment in setting up the materials so they look like they pretty much should look with reflections. In the first few render-tests I did with no Antialiasing, the black wasn't black, or even close to black, it actually ended up the same color as the rest of the scene thanks to the reflectivity.

But yeah, I'm gonna need to do some colors with this model in scenes, otherwise they'll just turn out like this one - black-and-white.

I turned down the lighting samples to 4 samples, so it has some graininess - all in an attempt to speed up the rendering process without loss of quality. Indeed it works, for this render took a whopping 54 minutes to complete (compared to the 1 hour+ of my other renders with higher lighting samples).

Frankly, compared to the YAFRAY renders, this looks better, especially since there's the single light in the scene with final gathering. Unfortunately... I need to light up that hallway, as it looks a little, well... bland.

I think so myself, though I'm probably going to go and look at improving some of the parts on it (starting with finishing the hands, and probably redoing details on the arms and legs).

It happens. Takes awhile to figure out the *exact* settings you need to make something look good... sometimes can be a pain... because the settings don't change and the render looks different.

That thing looks cool, what program are you using.
I think I like this one the most out of your mech set.

Wings3D for modeling and TOXIC Rendering Engine for rendering, using the Wings3D plug-in for it, though that hasn't been updated is nearly a full 3 years, but it works nicely, if slower than other rendering applications.
