I've seen a stun sword design that can be equipped with a railgun. In Metal Gear Rising, there's this large stun sword. With a few design mods, a railgun can be added. But I must warn you, railguns need to be bigger than that.

Believe me I've thought of that and I took the sword concept from Rising but not the railgun portion. The railgun actually came from Halo 4. I didn't want the sword to be terribly big but going by Metal Gear standards that was impossible. Until I thought of Halo and it's railgun was about the length and size of a rifle. Although not as dramatically powerful as the ones from metal gear, the one from Halo works well as an anti-personel weapon than an anti-vehicle one. And keeping the overall character in mind (strong, resourceful, and quick) this seemed like a great compromise. The greatest part about the smaller frame is that the charge time would be reduced unlike those long, powered up charging sequences in Metal Gear (in the case of Fortune, Crying Wolf, and Rex's railgun). Because I've noticed the bigger the railgun, the larger the charge when comparing the games. Halo 4's Railgun takes about 3-6 seconds before firing. Fortune and Crying Wolf's railgun takes about a minute or 2 to be truly harmful, and Rex's railgun takes a considerable amount of time ranging approximately from 5-7 minutes. I'm pretty sure it has to do with compression of the electomagnetic charge of the railgun. If it's thinner and smaller, the compressed energy discharges because of the lack of space. When larger, there's more space for extra energy to be compressed, therfore a larger charge and a stronger hit

Where do you load the ammunition?

The center of the frame. Made it identical to a revolver's

How do you hold this thing in railgun mode? Where's the trigger?

The stock goes under the arm. Trigger is on the extension on the bottom

But that's going to break the weapon if the chamber is not sealed.

Dust crystals don't use any form of magnetic material just pure energy. the worse that could happen is an overcharge that could backfire on the weapon and the user

Rail guns use specific ammunition so it can be fired. Uncut crystals will not do. That's why the characters in RWBY use Dust bullets.

the weapon has another uses besides railgun fire. But I see what you're saying about the ammunition. And it's ammunition is more powdered than solid

Or they're just powdered in the case of Myrtenaster

I'll admit the chamber is a compromise. Due to its design I had to alter the railgun's chamber to work more like revolver than a railgun. The reason was smaller projectiles. Had it been using larger projectiles the power would be too much for the frame because of recoil and the excessed heat. But then I realized that Dust crystals pack a large punch despite their size. An explosion from one crystal was probably equal to that of a bomb. So taking into account to how thin and lightweight the crystals are and their power, the cylinder's size is just for show.

Ok, I just had a look at the stun sword and the Carbine 920. I think I can develop a proper hybrid design without losing your weapon's aesthetic. I'll show you the design when it's ready, ok?

Love the design, but the name makes me want to shoot it with a SPARTAN Laser.
