so lotsa people wanna know how I make my lineart so smooth with a mouse. there's really no secret, I just use the pen tool. xD

I hope this helps. I learned how to use the pen tool using a few other tutorials, so some of the techniques in here might be similar to other tutorials'

oh btw, this tutorial is for photoshop 7.0 and up. I dunno if it works for 6.0- DD:

by the way, method 2 + 3 don't work on photoshop 6 or lower
and elements doesn't have pentool. d00m

when I use the 'stimulate pressure' it doesn't work

You need to enable pen pressure on the brush.

Hmmm, dunno if this is still active, but I am using Photoshop CC 2017. I followed method #3. However, even though I did that (with the simulation of pressure) the lines are still straight solid. There is no variation anywhere.

*EDIT* Never mind I played around some more and fixed it up! Great tutorial btw! Now I can use the pen tool much better than before. Thank you dearly! :D

nice i normally use the second method myself or ill combine Method one and two together for stronger lines xD ( but thats just me) great tut though

Tried to do method three and it doesn't work for me (Photoshop CS 3 is what I have) so I'm trying different things to figure out what I'm doing wrong.  I have this printed out so I can refer to it and I'm following it exactly as you have it, but I'm still not too sure what I'm doing to make it not work.

This is the easiest to follow tutorial that I've found and works the best for what I need.  Thank you very much!

your tutorial is awesome, but i've a question, when you say photoshop 6 you mean CS6? cause i keep trying method three but it ain't happening ahhh >_< if you look at my last work see how frustrating it is.
