The Will to Burn All Part 4 We flew for about a day and a half. My hunger quickly came with me, but Vicora seemed to be fine. I didn't understand how she could shift into something so large for so long without passing out from fatigue. I pushed those questions out of my mind and was just thankful that I was now on her good side and seemed to have gained her as an ally.
We stopped just outside the castle's walls in the cover of a forest. Vicora turned back to human and I did the same. She turned back to me.
"I'll be right back." She said to me, keeping a blank face.
I grabbed her arm and said, "Let me come, I can help if you need my assistance."
"Fine." She stated, "But I don't want you in your human form. Turn into a bug or something." I did as she asked, but bugs are harder to turn into than other creatures. Their skeletons are on the outside of their bodies, and I hadn't really experimented with them. To me making my skeleton pop out and co
The Will to Burn All Part 3 I flew to a landing nearby and it looked like a good place to camp out. As I dropped my bag and changed back I noticed I had a pain in my side. I looked down and there was a long gauge where the dragon had raked me with its claws. It wasn't too deep, but it caught me right between the ribs. Blood was steadily flowing from the wound. I opened my bag and found some bandages and wrapped it around my new battle wound.
"I guess I have to stay here for awhile until this wound heals up a bit." I sighed. I didn't want to be this close to the dragon's lair but I'd have to make do with what I had. I started a fire and quickly fell asleep.
Days had passed, and my wound was healing well. I was getting ready to pack up and get the hell out of the place when I heard a horse's hooves and the clank of weapons. I was curious and was going to warn the new comer about the dragon, but when I saw her dismount from the horse and let it go, I knew she was
The Will to Burn All Part 2 It was mid-afternoon and the light was burning hot. The trees gave little cover from the intense heat. I walked through it, until I found a cave. I ran inside and felt and cool air brush past me when I entered. I threw my bag on the ground and was just about to sit down for a nap when I saw something that caught my eye.
It looked like a floating gem of ice water. It was such a deep blue and looked so pure. I walked over and touched it. It sent an icy chill down my spine. It had this feeling of power, and I recalled people in the last village I went to talk about this crystal. It was called the Wizards Crystal and it could grant any wish. I pulled my knife from my pocket. All I had to do was write what I wanted on it. I should've wished for my Young Master to come back to life, but my selfish desires took hold of me. I wrote what I dearly wanted. I wrote, "The power to turn into any living thing".
The crystal floated up into the air
The Will to Burn All Part 1 I ran, fast as I could. If they caught me it'd be certain death. My master, who wasn't my master anymore, is surely furious at my actions. It was the man in front of me. It was his entire fault. He was the one who commanded I run away with him. He's the Young Master, so I had to obey.
The bushes and tree branches tore at my hair and clothing, scratching me across my arms and legs. Dogs were after us, and getting closer. I could tell from the barking as it got nearer. I was scared, and tears fell across my face.
Hours passed by, then days. And still, I ran with the Young Master, stopping only shortly for rest and bathroom breaks. Just when the Young Master and I thought we had lost the tracking team, disaster struck in the night.
I was sleeping, when the Young Master shook me awake. "Niki, wake up. You need to hide, we're not alone." I was too sleepy to argue and my mind was fuzzy with the power of sleep. I did as I was told, just like I always d
