Hello! Hope you are all doing well!

My new album is out from 2 months now and a lot of things changed for me:

I've been offered the chance to become an illustration teacher in an art school and it is really great for me to share ideas and advices with motivated students.

I take the rest of my free time to work on the next episode of my comic book trilogy. "CO2" and on a free fanzine about dreams and imaginary worlds that i'll show you later...

I'm actually planning to sell my books on "amazon" but I still have to see that with my publisher.

Keep on dreaming!

Hi all!

I'm actually organizing a trip to London this november, first to see Depeche Mode in Concert with my Love but also to check for possible exhibition places and galleries to show my work.
I've already found some adresses but I wanted to ask you people who live around if you know some galleries specially interested in illustration?

thanks in advance!

Hello dear followers! hope you are all well and that summer is not too hot for you (for me it is :()

Okay I saved enough money to give L'Au-Dessus a second publishing for the end of august and I'll be able to sign for BDfil in lausanne this year and pehaps angouleme next year.

i'll keep you in touch on that!!

I just posted the work I did this year (february-june) for the beaux-arts museum of Lausanne, hope you like it! it was a new style of commision for me but it was really fun to do!

I can now focus on my new story , "project sand",  wich I hope the first book could be published for 2014.

I'm also working to publish a portfolio of the illustrations I did for chronopolis as I'm frustrated to see them stored in my cellar

more news soon :)

Hi all!

well, after a few months of digital painting, I started being sick of all these computer things. I missed the charcoal's song when drawing and the feeling of the paper. So I started a new work wich will be called "O2". and will release it on Issuu each time a page is done. It will be a silent comic book sort of storyboard-like my first one; l'Au-Dessus.
I will ask about imaginary and creation and the way the story takes you away.
more news soon!!

you can already read my first comic book here issuu.com/osnotropp/docs/l_au_…

A lot of things changed in my life... things I decided to change...

sometimes it is hard to do changes because you have a job that is not the one you like but pays well and let you a lot of free time for hobbies. But after all, you seems to miss something.

I was a nightwatchman and the problem was that I had to work at night and sleep the day after to recover. Having a cut of a few days in my artworks. Every time I could work on my drawings again, it's like I had to learn everything again and again. and my health seems to degenarate

I loved to draw huge pencil illustrations but on the market I discovered the fact that the imperative is that you need to be effective!!
you can draw as many details or people you want on your illustrations if you cannot go fast you will lose your time because the salary for all these hours of work is really low.

I worked on my comic book but here too I realized that it's not my medium... I dont have the codes or the bases to clearly tell the story I wanted. I looked at my pages and thought; sure there are good drawings but good drawings don't save a bad storytelling...

So I decided to change things.

I stopped my nightwatch work and found a workplace set in the afternoon. it's half my ancient salary but I can work more often and in a more sustain way than before.
I decided to study digital painting... working on speed paintings, trying a lot of compositions and discovered a whole new world where all my ideas can be created instantly.
I stopped the comic book and began to write the story as a book and it will become a big beautifully illustrated book!

I was not sure and hesitated a lot but now I know that it was the good choice to have a chance to live with my art.

so again, thank you for all your messages, favs and your comforting words! it's always great to share my works with you!

see you soon!

Hello my friends!

first, sorry for not being there a lot...nothing really intersting to show you. Just a lot of "almost finished" comic pages on my desk.

This year will not change as I am still working on the book.
I'm really happy because the way I work on it, even if it's not the "usual way", it works great and I already have around 40 pages done. Maybe I'll show you the prologue of the story one day.

so again dont be disappointed if I do not answer your messages, be sure I read them and answer them soon!

Hope to show you some interesting stuff soon! :)

wish you a great new year!

Exhibition and new resolutions...

Journal Entry: Mon Aug 16, 2010, 3:57 PM

Hi my friends!

I'm a little mad these days because I have a lot of nightwatch work (my other job) and need to sleep all the day to stay in shape. No time to draw or not as much that I need. The problem is that if I dont draw regularly I loose the style and it takes me hours or days to warm the hand again.
So I decided to do a one day-one random illustration challenge to keep the hand warm.It is actually working good and I could show you the result when I'll be back at the studio (no A3 scan at home :))

the other new is a good new as I'm ready for the "Chronopolis" exhibition wich will takes place in La cité du Temps www.citedutemps.com/ in Geneva, switzerland starting 6 august to 12 september. There will be original peices of my work and some sketches too
all the profit will be used to produce the comic book so I hope it will work!

I received the big poster for the entrance:

and heres the flyer (the ending date changed since I did this one)

if your are in switzerland or near and want to know more about the exhibition, just send me an MP or your email and I'll send you a flyer by mail.

the exhibition will maybe move to paris soon but I dont know when...
I'll let you know!

I wish you all a nice day!
and keep the good work!
