Though really, can you blame him? If you had worked somewhere for a fair amount of time, yet couldn't remember most of it, that alone would make a person curious. But even more so if they were a scientist. You'd want to know both what happened in that time, and *why* you don't remember it. Since that doesn't add up logically, so you'd be looking to see if there are clues in the research itself. I would say it would be more strange if his curiosity *didn't* get the better of him. Once a scientist, always a scientist. He'd want to solve this, even if just to put his mind at ease.. though more likely because that's a heck of a mystery. If anything, I'm surprised he never tried to look into it before this. Why he never tried to check things out himself, since a big chunk of his life would have gaping holes in it. He's a smart guy, I'd think that kind of inconsistency would bother him. Ah well, maybe that's a side effect as well. Guess we'll see. Love your story and expressions, as always.
