We make stuff. We make geeky stuff. We mostly design pins and make plushies - specifically, costumed teddy bears - but we also make purses, jewelry, Lolita accessories, hand puppets, cute little things made out of felt, the list goes on...
We are two sisters and a brother-in-law in our 30s, from the Pittsburgh, PA area. We have been taking our fuzzy things to a few area conventions since 2006 - we've appeared at Tekkoshocon/Tekko, Tsubasacon, Matsuricon, Steel City Con, and I Made It! Market.
All of our goods are handmade by us, without mass manufacturing. One exception: we have taken plain store-bought bears and made them fabulous with handmade cosplay outfits. That's kinda what we do around here.
Sarah - sews, writes the website, makes all of the "base" bears (the bodies, at least the ones that are built from scratch). Also your host here on dA. The elder of the Ables and probably the biggest dork in the bunch.
Em - sews, designs pins, logos, and our website, paints, makes jewelry, runs the Etsy store, and does most of the posting on Facebook. The only one of us with actual formal artistic training.
Jay - makes Perler bead sprites, designs hand puppets, and talks up our work at cons like a pro. Sarah's husband, hence the nickname Able Brother-In-Law or ABIL.
