I read the book around the time you posted this. Looks almost 1 to 1 like in my imagination.

I imagined the Vegetation a bit more dense and more sun-blocking canopies.

Awesome work.


Have you heard of Hothouse by Brian Aldiss? The biology there is also pretty wild, even though not really alien. Just further along the path of evolution.

Sadly the biology there is not as precisely described as in Alien Clay.

Might have some inspiration for you nevertheless.
