I know next to nothing about the Conan mythos or the Howard books, but I'm gonna give this a go anyway. From where I stand, you've done everything right in terms of technique, anatomy, etc. The Elephant Man (no relation to Joseph Merrick) seems rather harmless, but also quite foreboding and unnerving. The warrior (I'm assuming it's Conan) looks spooked, or at the very least wary (not that I blame him). EM tries to assuage his fears and doubts: perhaps he wishes to impart wisdom that'll prove useful for what lies ahead in the Cimmerian's path. He could also be warning Conan about danger, or asking him to subscribe to his tumblr, for all I know.

Seriously though, you've managed to make this were-pachyderm quite interesting. Despite being held prisoner in the tower, his countenance radiates such wisdom and serenity; I might be wrong, but he strikes me as an enlightened soul. The spheres in his tusks could be there by his own choice, or as a precaution on the part of his captors. His hands and feet, his entire body expertly elides the frontier between man and animal; Elephant Man defies labeling because he's both and neither of those things at the same time. He reminds me of Ganesha, the Hindu deva of beginnings and learning: this guy could easily be his descendant or something of the sort.

Overall, you've done a terrific job here. My compliments to you.

It's a good take on one of Howard's seminal Conan scenes. I like how you  gave Conan a swag bag to carry his loot.

One of my favorites from Conan!  Fantastic illustration as well!

I think the only critique I would have, would be to maybe dramatize the lighting a bit.  Since you have those great torches, maybe the whole image could be slightly vignetted around the edges?

Just a thought, love the work!

Excelent! This is one of my favourite histories of Conan wrote by R. E. Howard. And Yag-Kosha is a very interesting character because he can be strange and a bit scary from the human point of view but also is one of the few cosmic entities that Conan finds in his travels that is not evil if not even friendly and reasonable to at leat one part of the humanity, especially the barbarian and primitive societies. Although I think it is a shame that R. E. Howard never wrote more about his origins, the "Green Planet of Yag" and the war against his ancient kings.
