Holidays: Comforting or Stressful?

Wed Nov 26, 2014, 12:53 AM by AbbeyMarie:iconabbeymarie:

Happy holidays my fellow neurotics!

With the U.S. Thanksgiving on the 27th, and the winter holidays just around the corner, I am curious to know how you handle the holidays? It's well known that for some the holiday season is a happy time they look forward to every year, for others it can be rough and stressful or even sad, and then for some it goes by like any other month.

So how about you, what are your plans? How do you feel this time a year? Whether you spend the holidays by yourself or with family/friends, do you have any traditions? Share your story!

Happy Holidays! :D

The holidays for me are a mixed bag of emotions.  I love Christmas and always have, but it's not the same as it used to be.  It's stressful because of money and being busy.  It's sad because my parents and most recently an uncle are no longer here to celebrate it with me and my family. However, I try not to dwell on the bad parts of the holiday season and make the best of it.  :)

On Christmas Eve I spend it with my brother and sister-in-law and a couple of others close to our family and on Christmas Day I spend it at my Aunt's house. (the wife of my Uncle who passed away last year)

We celebrate Christmas Day. I hate this time of year! It's a family time and I am always alone :-(

We don't have Thanksgiving here so it's still calm for me until around mid-December. This time of year though is hard for me for reasons that have nothing to do with the season, but it was in early Dec last year that my Pancakes fell and was paralyzed due to spinal injury :(

This was Pancakes

Hopefully the holidays will be nice to keep my mind off it. It's for the most part the only time of the year that I get to see some of my relatives and friends who moved abroad but come home for the holidays.
