"The atom is not a soldier, it is a worker."
-Close approximation to Soviet NPP propaganda as written from memory
Thirty years ago today, Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant (CNPP) reactor number 4 blew its top, as from a malfunction in its reactor. The resulting explosion culminating in the worst nuclear disaster the world has seen. Even more so than today's Fukushima. Something near fifty people - reactor workers, fire-fighters - died as a direct result of the event but over the years the death-toll brought about from the radiation that leaked climbed into the thousands. Exact numbers can be politically charged.
In the aftermath, the nuclear utopia town of Pripyat - built to match the highest bar of Soviet living standards in the seventies and eighties in celebration of their nuclear energy sector - Chernobyl, and the area surrounding were evacuated of 60,000 residents in just hours and nuclear fires burned towards the CNPP
Today a thirty kilometer zone of exclusion separates the area from the rest of the world. Thirty years on the Zone of Alienation is a petri-dish for ecological study and "Dark Tourism", people visiting The Zone to bask in the grim glow of Chernobyl's world in Ukraine.
Figured after work I'd put this out, since while browsing the news on work-provided phones I was informed. Mostly writing this from memory and what I already know before I hit the bed.

I need some ideas
So, in case anyone remembers or cares: before I left for New York I embarked on a project where I was rendering various war-time Equestria stuff from Fallout Equestria into "Unit Cards" as you might expect in a Total War game, since I was playing a lot of Shogun 2 before I left. I could have put out more before I did, but I got hung up on something before I did. Something in the process of making those. And I could use some ideas before getting back onto that.
But in case ya'll need a refresher, they were something like this:
They're all in the FoE folder - or should be - so you can go see the rest. I want to finish a sort of Equestrian "Co
Going dark for a bit
Heads up for everyone. By the end of this week I'm going to be going dark for a bit. I'll be out of state for a few months and away from my computer. Maybe I can find a way to be active, but expect no new uploads from me from here on out. But expect sometime after I come back to probably be hit with more photos.
Do you need to know where I am going?
Maybe. Maybe not.
Should you be worried?
No. I'm fine. All is gucchi. It's just work related.
So, good luck everyone and have fun on this year's EQD ATG.
It is done
90+ pages of eight years worth of content, some of trash, organized into their own particular folders and in a few cases sub-folders. Perhaps more organizing could be done, but I honestly don't care enough to do that, not now. Feel free to do with this information whatever it is people do with this information.
Trying to organize my gallery
Which given that it covers years worth of content, will be no easy feat. But I figured this should be made known.
I will now periodically suffer for my sins, and maybe this'll be done by the new year.
