My last journal was in July... time for a change, right?

Two days ago, I bought myself the game Mount&Blade:Warband and was really annoyed to find out, that I have to register it in my Steam Account, to play it. The first version was also independent, so why's the final version not?! ...

Luckily I already have an account, thanks to Skyrim... and while finally playing M&B, I just thought about this whole online game database stuff. I'm not sure, if I like it, or not.

First off, yeah I know, that you can also play games offline... but what really annoys me, is, that nearly every single game that is released, need to be registered somewhere online. Some even twice, like Might and Magic X (Steam+ Uplay)! Why?! I mean, hackers are always able to get what they want. My brother also had a hacked version of Skyrim without Steamaccess.
This whole log in + off stuff pisses me off and also the fact, that you really have no real choice. You HAVE to register certain games on Steam in order to play it.

The really only positive thing I see in this, is the fact, that you have access to your games from every single pc and laptop, but is this really enough to justify this registration curse?!

Or maybe I just like to exxagerate...

What do you think about this?

Greeting from Arki

Hey! My big brother hates the newer games just because of this. People can't sell their games on other players when they're done with it, because of this STEAM-system. You can't install it if the previous owner has already registered it in STEAM (in order to play it), and my brother has lost some money because of it when he has bought second hand game that has been already registered ( = useless for the new owner).
