Djoud Rolough by A3ulez Djoud Rolough by A3ulez
Name: Djoud's name is actually Jode, but because this is borrowed, in Mecidel it would be rendered 'Djoud' to be pronounced "Joe-d." Other wise it would be pronounced "zhuh-deh." His last name is pronounced "R'UH-loh-kh" kh = [x], velar fricative. R' means the 'r' is not rolled. Mecidel has three kinds of Rs :|

[I don't add the tick marks in the names because the Mecidel have a different way of distinguishing them than I do, and I dont' want people to interpret some weird pause there like in most overblown sci-fi names (i.e. my character Jih'Hes Til'Le ;) Whose name has since undergone numerous changes, none of which I'm happy with yet.)

This is the character that almost got cut, hehe. He was originally one of Jutcri-mot's sons, the only one that wasn't pure. He is no longer related but did know Jutcri-baj on Gochen Belena, where he fought and got all those nasty scars. Rather than leaving him with PTSD, though, Jode completely lost his memory because of his experiences there. He only remembers his name because of his Mecidel birth ring.

Failing to join with the Mecidel rescue party that ahd been negotiated with NISOFF for a limited period, he was discovered and picked up by NISOFF when they obtained the base. He was interrogated for military secrets but obviously had none. As a result, he and other soldiers were sold as slaves, not falling under NISOFF's constitution banning such practices for its citizens.

Jode eventually ended up in Jih's service but has no Manzei abilities. He does, however, retain a great deal of his athletic ability, and Jih has sharpened his skills.

By the way... doesn't he look like Donnie Darko? Yeah, that wasn't intended. I think it's the lazy eyes.

Whoa! I got the pronunciation right without even having to read your description! **is proud of her mad pronunciation skills**

You make a good point about all the wocky punctuation marks in sci-fi names. Star Wars names always annoyed me for that reason, but then again, their annoying oddness is part of the reason that I love them...I guess.

I suppose it's to my advantage, then, that I've never seen Donnie Darko.

I keep thinking that he should be a panda or something stuck between human and bear form. ...No idea where that came from. Maybe it's the nose. I've been making lots of weird comparisons today. **huggles the ears**

So do you plan on posting the story here once you've finished a sizeable part?

Well ^^' It may be a while before anything is written that I actually like. Most of the plot detail is just mapped out in the character profiles, which are pages long. I only give little clips after the pics because I want people to actually read them, heh!

If I think of a scene I really want to write soon, I'll get that much down at least to give people a taste, but lately that creative energy has only gone into profile-writing and design pics *shrug* :)

Maybe sometime I'll give you access to my super secret forum of planning :o!

True; I've discovered that the key to making people read is to make your writing short. The final version at least. Which is rather irritating.

Hope your writing moves quickly!

I usually just use computer paper on my hand-drawn stuff, but this was all done on Photoshop =) I usually make a huge screen- like 2000 by 2000 and then just start in the middle, heh.

I like doing decorative collars ^^ unfortunately, I don't know when he would have worn one O.o

All done on Photoshop :jawdrop:
O_O *bows to your awesome skill!*

Okay, well that's what I use, but I always see you being able to fit in those little details that I can't reach so I thought you might have used much bigger paper >> er, I'm probably just too lazy to do all that detail. lol

Yeah, if you don't start ridiculously huge on photoshop, it's pretty hard to get in the detail you want. I always end up not getting the detail I want in the eyes, but I'm pretty happyw ith Jode ^^ Glad you like him!
