Aule - The Inventor by A3ulez Aule - The Inventor by A3ulez
The true title of this piece is 'A3ulez ar A3ulez-tan' which means Invention and Inventor. A3ulez is the name of Aule (God of Craft and creator of the Dwarves in J.R.R. Tolkien's Silmarillion) in Valinorean, language of the Valar/dieties. In Tolkien's original mythos, though, there were also a race of cat people. They were evil, lived in the north with the Dark Lord Melkor, and were led by one 'Prince Tevildo.' Considering how Melkor couldn't ever make anything of his own- only corrupt what already existed, I imagine they were once a friendlier people. In the painting, I show Aule making a few finishing touches on one of the first of this race while she is still stone.

I really like the original of this better since I have a tendency to add metallic paint in places o.o! Aule's eyes should glow in gold.

Thank you very much ^^! This and Garden of Irmo are probably my favorite works, but I haven't had much painting time lately. I used acrylic, water colors, latex paints, and model paints on canvas, lol!

No, perhaps I didn't put it in this description, lol. In The Lost Tales version of the Silmarillion, there is also a race of cat people that serve Melkor. The books say time and again, though, that Melkor can't create anything on his own, only corrupt what's already been made. So I have it here that Aule is making the first of the cat people, which will eventually become Melkor's slaves =)

Yeah you're right, the most exciting party it's when Turgon High King of Gondolin arrives with 10 thousand elf warriors, LOrd!! it was terrible!!
I hope someone dare to make a film of this, and i hope Jackson take the role again.

I'm not sure if he'll tackle it. Frankly, I certainly enjoyed his work as opposed to the animated versions, but he also did a few things that I thought didn't fit-- like all of Legolas' skater stunts and the random zombie character he invented. I think someone with a bit more... colorful and artistic vision would need to work on the Silmarillion, while also knowing the story inside and out. I tried already and failed on a screenplay, lol. I need to read more!

Lol! I'm more of a Battle of Unnumbered Tears person myself ;) I have a great book that maps out the basic movements in the 5 big battels and such. Turin's story was really great though. It reminds me of-- I think it was the Greek tragedy Oedipus, but I can't remember. His story sure was a sad series of bad luck, though =( made me sad. Good luck with that project ;)!
