Description
A loud yawn escaped the lips of Lacey as she still caught in the middle of a dream. But as the seconds went by, the dream began to fade away and reality immediately set in. One thing that she did was do immediately was begin to stretch her body as she knew that she had a busy day ahead of her.
Thanks to her staggering height, she had found herself signed to a basketball team although her skills weren't entirely up to scratch just yet. Because of this, she had another training session that she needed to attend and then after that, she had a photo shoot that she would undertake with the rest of her team.
However, there was something that Lacey did realise which was somewhat disturbing. When she had fallen asleep, she was sure that she had been lying within her bed. Now however, it felt like whatever she was lying on was hard, as if she were on the floor. It was possible that she had fallen out of bed during the night, but she was sure that she would have woken up if that were the case.
Slowly, she began to open her eyes and she could see the ceiling above her. However, this wasn't the same ceiling that she had been looking up at last night. That one had been white in colour where this one was brown. This caused her to immediately sit up and she began to look around at her environment. Where she found herself in was definitely not her bedroom, rather it was a fairly large room with shelves that seemed to be stacked with random objects. It almost seemed as though she was in a shack of some kind.
"W-What, where am I?" asked Lacey as she continued to look around at her surroundings. She immediately stood up to her feet and that was when she began to realise something else. She wasn't wearing the same nightwear that she had the night before. Instead, she was wearing a light blue short sleeved dress which had a white apron along with pair of black and white striped stocking along with a pair of flat black shoes. One thing that she didn't immediately realise was that she also had a black hairband that had two small rabbit like ears attached to it.
The next thing that Lacey did was stand up to her full height and she expected her head to be quite close to the ceiling. But this time she discovered that this wasn't the case. As she looked up, she could see that the ceiling was several feet above her head and given the fact that she was in a place that she didn't recognise, it could very well be a good reason for why the ceiling seemed so high.
However, she when she looked at herself, she couldn't help but be completely shocked by what she was seeing. Not only because of the outfit that she was wearing, but also because of her proportions. When she had gone to sleep, she had been an eight-foot beanpole of a woman who was used to towering over everyone that she met. But now, her proportions didn't look as though they were stretched, in fact the closest thing that she could describe it was that she was normal.
Indeed, this was the case as she was only stood at around five and a half feet tall. It was very likely that this was the height that she was going to be, if the car accident that had caused her unusual growth had never happened. This only added to her amazement as she felt as though she was actually average for the first time in a good while.
"W-What's happened?" asked Lacey in confusion as she was trying to figure out exactly what was happening. "Where am I, what am I wearing and why am is my height so… normal?" She was still struggling for answers as her brain tried to make sense of everything that was going on around her.
"Oh, you're awake sleepyhead," replied a voice of a woman. This caused Lacey to begin to look around as she tried to see who was speaking. However, as much as she tried, she still couldn't see anyone whatsoever. "You really are a heavy sleeper, aren't you?"
"Wait a minute." Lacey was sure that she recognised the voice of the woman that she could hear. This did cause her to become slightly annoyed as she knew what it would mean. "Sastrid, is that you?"
"Ding, ding, ding, you win a prize." There seemed to be some joy in the voice of Sastrid as she knew that what was going to take place would be a lot of fun. "And the prize is an explanation of the rules to this little game."
"I don't have time for games, I'm very busy today! So, whatever you have in mind, don't bother and take me back home." She stated this in a demanding tone as she had to make Sastrid see that she wasn't joking around.
"Ah about that, the only way that you'll be able to go back home is to finish the game. So, you're either going to have to play, or be stuck in there forever."
"What don't tell me that…" Lacey stayed silent as she considered her options. She knew Sastrid well enough by now to know that if she really wanted something, she was going to get it. If it meant that Lacey would have to go through with this insanity then she would have to. "Ok fine, what do I have to do."
"Now that's the spirit!" There was a chuckle from the demoness although Lacey felt like strangling her if she were standing in front of her. "There are four rooms that you need to escape from in order to win the game and earn your prize. It's simple really, if you ask me my friend."
"So, all I need to do is open the doors and simply leave?" She glanced over to one of the doors and saw a very tall just ahead of her. "Ok, let's get this over and done with." She walked towards the door and she looked at it as she expected to see the handle just in front of her. But that when she noticed something very odd. There didn't seem to be a doorhandle whatsoever, much to her dismay. "Hey how do I open this."
"Try looking up my dear." That was when Lacey did begin to look up and she saw something that was surprising and yet annoying. This was the fact that the handle to the door was very high up, even though it was a relatively normal door.
"It's up there?"
"Yep, so reach up and there and grab it!" Lacey did as she was told and reached up to try and attempted to grab onto the hand. However, this was something that she found incredibly difficult. Even on her tip toes, she couldn't reach it and she even jumped at it to try and grab it. Unfortunately, all of her efforts were for naught. "Oh dear, seems that I you're just a little too short for this task."
"Damn it Sastrid, make me my normal height again so I can get the handle!" It seemed as though she was getting even more annoyed by the second with what was taking place. This was indeed one of the few times that she actually wished for her incredible height.
"Now that would be boring. In this room you have little things that will make you taller. Maybe it's a chocolate, maybe it's a sweetie or even something that you can sip. But be warned, instead of making you taller, it might make you shorter instead, or something else could happen."
"Oh no." She sighed as she knew that this was going to going to lead to another case of size shenanigans. "Or I could just find something to use like a step."
"Now that's no fun now, is it? You better find whatever it is that will make you grow and reach the handle. Enjoy yourself."
"I doubt I will."
For the time being, Sastrid's voice fell silent as she began to look at various items that were around the shack like room. There were no windows and only one light that was attached to the ceiling. But it didn't seem to a clue to anything as she just went through everything that she could find on the shelves.
There were many things that she could see, this included gold jewellery that was like worth a fortune. There was even a model ship in a bottle that looked extremely realistic. Lacey knew that it was likely a real ship that had been shrunk down and placed into a bottle by Sastrid since it was something that the demoness would do.
Something else that she could find was what looked to be a drawing pin that was s large that she needed two hands in order to grab onto it. Another everyday item that was at an abnormal size. But there was something that Lacey did eventually find that she hoped would bring her some luck.
Right next to a pile of small ceramic pots, she discovered what looked to be a small tin box and when she opened it, she noticed that there were small gummi bear like sweets inside. Her eyes widened as she realised that this could very well be what she needed in order to make herself taller.
Before Lacey could eat one of the gummi bears, she paused as she wanted to proceed with caution. She remembered what Sastrid had said, there was a chance that rather than making her taller, she instead became shorter, making her task that much more difficult. Or maybe caused her to grow so large that she filled the entire room.
As a precaution, Lacey only ate one gummi bear and then placed the rest of them back on the shelf. She waited to see what would happen to her, she was convinced that something annoying was going to take place. If it involved Sastrid it was going to be far from a normal experience.
Suddenly Lacey could see her eyeline beginning to lift up in what was a very sudden motion. In a matter of moments, her regular proportioned body had disappeared and was replaced with a very long body. Much like the one that she was used to having before this misadventure took place.
Almost as suddenly as the growth spurt had started, it ended and Lacey found herself as the towering being that many were used to seeing. Her head was very close to the ceiling and she looked down at her long body. Rather than being annoyed by this, a smile appeared on her face as it seemed that something was going right for her.
"Great, I'm tall again," said Lacey with a tone that made her think that this insane situation was going to end rather quickly. Once again, she stepped towards the door and this time, was able to easily reach the handle. "Now I can…"
This was when Lacey realised something when she had attempted to pull down on the handle. It wasn't moving at all, no matter how much she tried, she couldn't open the door. She was sure that there was some kind of trick to it, but soon enough she realised something that was incredibly simple. The door was locked.

Well well well, how very interesting that the “Lacey in Wonderland” has a story to say, and it’s a size related escape room story.
