Guardians Of The Northern City: Chapter 90

Louise found herself once again on patrol with Elizabeth. It had been a day after the latter had received the phone call and she was trying to think of the best way to tell her the unfortunate news. On more than one occasion, she was on the verge of telling Louise, but she would always hesitate at the last moment. She knew that she was only making things more difficult by not telling her. One way or another, the French giantess was going to learn about what would happen to herself and her companions.

Moving around for Louise was a little more difficult than when she had last gone on patrol. Thanks to her increase in size, everything seemed smaller to her. Also her enlarged breasts gave her an unfortunate blind spot underneath. This meant that she had to be extra careful as she remembered what happened when she had accidentally stepped on Elizabeth. If not for her invulnerability, she would have been crushed to death.

"It's such a belle day," said Louise as she took a deep breath. "Don't you think so Lizzie?" There was a smile on her face as she looked at the woman who was currently riding on her shoulder.

"Y-Yeah," replied Elizabeth as she seemed to be lost in her own thoughts. She hadn't even fully registered what the giantess was saying to her.

"It's too bad that Serena can't be here to enjoy it as well. Hopefully she'll be feeling much better soon." She couldn't help but imagine herself arriving at the hospital while wearing a nurse uniform.

"Yeah she will be. But it will be a while before she's up and running again. Her knee was broken really badly."

"I see. Do you think we should go and see her?"

"Yes we can do if you wish. But I still advise you to be careful." Thankfully, this conversation was helping to keep her mind off the unfortunate truth that she was going to have to tell her.

"I know Lizzie." She gave her another smile and even closed her eyes. She brought her hand up to her head and pulled a quick two finger pose that did look quite cute. "I'll be as careful as can be."

Elizabeth found it difficult to see how Louise could stay so positive after everything that had happened to her. Not only had she been enlarged to a ridiculous size but she was torn away from her loving family and had abilities that were evolving out of her control. There was no determining what was going to happen with her, but it seemed like she was willing to face whatever came her way.

Her mentor guessed that one reason why she was so upbeat was because of Louise's faith. Rather than seeing this as a curse, she had seen it as a blessing from God that needed to be used in order to benefit others. This part of her mindset was unwavering as she truly thought that this was part of God's grand plan for her. Even if she couldn't see exactly where it would be going.

Even so, Louise carefully made her way towards the hospital where Serena was still being treated. There was one part where she did stop herself as there was a zebra crossing along with people who were walking across the road.

Once the road was once again clear, the French Giantess continued her walk towards the hospital. Her cheerful demeanour still made her seem happy despite the situation that she had found herself in. But her mood picked up even more when the hospital came into view and she seemed to be closer than she expected.

After being led by Elizabeth, Louise was able to find the window that led to the ward where Serena was being treated. The injured Guardian in question was relaxing in the bed and had begun to read a book. But her fun with literature was interrupted when she felt a slight shudder in the ground. This would only last for a moment before subsiding, only for it to return but each time being stronger.

By this point, she had figured out that these shudders weren't due to any kind of tectonic activity. Rather it was the feeling of footsteps that she knew could only come from one person. This did make her smile as she knew what was coming next. This came in the form of a glowing red eye that appeared right at the window.

"Bonjour Serena," stated Louise with her usually cheerful tone. Her heavy French accent only made her seem that much cuter. Even if she was by far the largest human being that the world had ever seen.

"Hi there Louise," replied Serena as she waved at the towering woman. Thankfully, her bed was right next to the window which did make things much easier. "How have you been?" She had known about her recent growth spurt but was hoping that something more positive could be mentioned.

"No bad merci." She smiled once again and as she moved a little, she could feel her enlarged breasts jiggle a little. A sensation that was always quite strange to her but also somewhat enjoyable.

"Is Elizabeth here as well or have you come on your own?"

"No she's here with moi." With some care, Louise was able to take her mentor off of her shoulder and place her into the ward itself. The window was thankfully large enough for her to be able to do such a thing.

The others on the ward did look over and were more than surprised with what they were seeing. Not many of them had seen Louise up close and seeing what she was doing only added to their amazement. They also were still more than surprised with the size of Elizabeth as well.

Like many before them, they had forgotten that Elizabeth was a giant in her own right but since she was often seen with Louise. It was more than easy to forget this simple fact. But they watched as the very tall Englishwoman staggered for a few moments after she had been put down before completely regaining her balance.

"Ah master," said Serena as a show of respect to her former mentor. It was nice to see her again. Especially with Louise being present at the same time. Unlike Elizabeth, she had no idea about the call that had taken place and the actions that were going to be taking place against the giantess.

"Hello Serena," replied Elizabeth as she made her presence known. There was still an aura of authority and respect that seemed to be surrounding her. Nothing short of what Serena expected when seeing her former mentor. "I'm sorry that it's been so long since I visited. Been having to deal with a few things."

"That's alright, I don't mind." There was still something that she could feel that was definitely something that only she would notice. The power that she felt from Louise seemed to be stronger than ever. This was the first time that she had been in her presence since her recent growth spurt. "How is everything."

"Everything is fine." She knew that this was a lie but still kept up appearances for the sake of everyone. "We've had to deal with a couple of minor events, but nothing that we have to worry about."

"Although Henri did have a baby," said Louise as she felt that this was something that was worth mentioning. She did still find it very pleasing that her dinosaur like companion had a friend.

"Wait what?" replied Serena as she was more than surprised to hear about this. "How did that happen?"

"Well I…"

At this moment in time, Louise had leaned forward and in turn her hand came down on top of the roof of the hospital. She suddenly felt a surge run through her body and the energy that was within immediately bubbled to the surface. In an instant, she began to glow brightly, almost too brightly to be seen.

The energy began to transfer into the hospital itself. Almost like a raging fire, it spread across the entire building within a matter of seconds. Even though Louise removed her hand from the roof, the process was still continuing at a rapid pace. She thought that what she was doing was going to be a gigantic problem for her.

The energy wasn't just spreading to the building, but for everyone inside of it as well. This was something that was impossible to halt after it had begun. All three Guardians were completely silent while this was happening and none of them had any idea about what was going to happen next.

Before Serena could say a word, she was horrified to see that her injured leg from the knee down suddenly disintegrate into dust. There was nothing that she could do about this and the thoughts of having to live without this particular limb was very troubling for her. But this was replaced by another feeling.

Immediately, she could feel her leg beginning to grow back. There was no words that could truly describe what was happening. Everything was happening too fast as the leg continued to grow and shape itself as it formed. The broken knee that she was recovering from had been completely replaced with a new and perfectly healthy knee. Along with the rest of her leg, it was becoming just like it had done before her injury. But one thing that she didn't realise was that she was far from the only person in the hospital who was going through a similar process to herself.
