The ringing of the alarm on Louise's phone was an unwelcomed sound for the giantess. Not only was her sorrow for leaving her family behind in France still present, but the journey back to Canada and the time difference was taking a toll on her. She had spoken to her family since landing and it did make her feel a little better, but it would still take time before she was completely back to her cheerful self.

The time difference was another matter entirely. Since where she was stationed was almost a third of a day behind France, it was taking her body time to adjust to her surroundings. It seemed that no matter how big or small a person could be, jet lag was still something that affected them equally.

A groan escaped from the lips of Louise as she deactivated the alarm and opened her glowing eyes. While she had been asleep, she had been dreaming about something that didn't really make too much sense. But as she continued to wake up, memories of the dream were beginning to fade away and practically be gone within a few moments.

Almost immediately, the giantess began to stretch her body and it was at this moment in time that she could feel that her feet were becoming cold. This caused her some confusion as she was sure that she wasn't too far down the bed. When she completely opened her eyes, she could see that her feet were indeed sticking out over the edge of her scaled up bed.

This caused Louise to panic for a moment until she realised that the bed was made for her before her recent growth spurt. Because of this, if she were to stretch herself out like she was now, she wouldn't be able to completely fit herself onto it anymore. This did cause her to grunt again with annoyance.

It took the giantess another few minutes before she came around and finally got out of bed. Today was her first patrol since returning to New Cardiff and it seemed that her lack of presence had been noticed. Thanks to her great size, it made it very easy for regular people to notice when she wasn't there.

The fact that both Guardians had left the city had been kept secret. Most ruffians could be handled by the police with ease. But if the citizens realised there weren't any Guardians in New Cardiff, then there could be a small wave of panic. That was why this patrol was so important.

Before Louise could do anything else, she needed to wash herself up and put on a fresh change of clothes. She couldn't help but still be half asleep as she began to walk that led into her bathroom, she felt a sudden strike to her head. This completely caught her by surprise and she did stagger back for a few steps. This sent some shockwaves through the ground but she was confused with what she had hit.

That was when she looked and saw the top of the gigantic doorframe. Once again, in her fatigued state, she had forgotten that she was now too tall to step through the door without ducking. Another grunt escaped her lips as well as a curse word in her native tongue before she stepped inside of the bathroom.

After a warm shower and brushing her teeth, it came time for Louise to change into her outfit for the day. The outfit that she had worn while she was in France was in the wash since she had worn it for several days straight. Her options for outfits while she had been there was limited to say the least.

The first idea for an outfit that she had was her yellow one that she was probably most known for. However, issues immediately made their presence known. The skirt of it had become very short in comparison to her larger body and it felt tight around her upper body. It made it a little difficult to breathe and she knew that she wouldn't be able to wear it for long before feeling short of breath.

The shoes that went along with this outfit was also too small for her feet. When it came to her flip-flops there was still plenty of feet, but her converse like shoes didn't give her such freedom. They were so tight that they felt extremely uncomfortable for her and made it difficult to walk. This made her quickly decide that wearing the complete outfit was completely out of the question.

Instead, she wore her green outfit that was still tight but was slightly looser. Also since she wore the flip flops with them, it was a lot more comfortable for her and thus, she decided to wear this for the day. More outfits were being manufactured for her, but it would take time and she would have to make due with what she had.

When she was done in the bathroom, Louise did step out of it but remembered to duck this time. This prevented her from slamming her head against the doorframe this time but she would have to remember to do this every single time now. It was something that she was still wrapping her head around.

Even after she had finished eating her breakfast, she still had a little time before she had to meet up with her mentors and begin her patrol. Because of this, she thought that it was best to try and update the people who followed her blog about why she had been silent for as long as she had been.

If she were to do such a thing, she would have to record the thing three times from start to finish. Since she her blog was in three different languages, she would have to record them to cater to those followers. Because of this, she thought that a quick, unedited video for both of them would be for the best in this situation.

Thankfully, each video that she made was only a couple of minutes long where Louise would quickly mention why she had been gone and addressed her followers who had been concerned about her wellbeing. Rather than telling them the entire story, she merely gave them a half truth about returning to France in order to visit her family. She didn't even go into details about her eyes or the fact that she was bigger.

During these recordings, she kept her eyes closed the entire time as she wasn't sure that she was entirely ready to reveal to the public that she had changed in this manner. Telling her family had been difficult, but she couldn't help but feel that this was more difficult. Rather than telling a handful of people, she was going to be telling thousands if not millions of people. Although her family had been accepting and understand of her, she knew that there would be some people on the internet who wouldn't feel the same way. Instead, she thought that for the time being, it was best to keep her new feature a secret.

Eventually, Louise simply ran out of time as she had to go on patrol. It wasn't expected that there would be too much action for her, but a calm day at the office was what she really needed at that moment in time. It would help get her into the swing of things and she ducked in order to get through the front door.

Elsewhere in the city, Selena was also getting herself ready to go on patrol. Like Elizabeth and Louise, she too was adjusting to the time zone difference but it was a little worse for her. Instead, she found herself in a country that she had never visited before and in an accommodation that wasn't entirely up to scratch as far as she was concerned.

This wouldn't be her permanent residence though as there were accommodations being prepared at Louise's warehouse. It was something that was going to take a little bit of time to complete and then she would be able to fulfil her duties and keep her eye on the giantess and her current abilities.

Ever since Selena had absorbed some of Louise's energy, she was trying to figure out exactly what it was. It was still something that she couldn't entirely put her finger on. It was definitely different to the other energies and radiations that she had absorbed over time. There was something more divine about it, something more pure.

Even now, she could still feel the sensation of having Louise's energy still inside of her. Normally by now, whatever energy that she had absorbed would disperse. Depending on what it was and how much she had absorbed would dictate how long it would take for it to fully disperse.

This time was different, she still felt the energy from Louise within her and she could still feel the benefits from this as well. She couldn't help but feel more alert and healthier. As if her body was energised and it had been over a week since she had absorbed the energy. For the amount she had absorbed, it should have dispersed long before now, but somehow it still remained.

It was something that she was definitely going to reply back to her superiors as they too had a sample of her energy. There was still no word entirely from them about exactly what Louise's body was generating and what it was capable of. Selena herself was still under the firm belief that it wasn't a threat to anyone.

But still, all she could do was prepare herself for her first patrol in her new city. With Elizabeth and Louise alongside her, she knew that she would be fine. But it was still just adjusting that she was experiencing. It wasn't as difficult as if she had gone to almost any other country. Since she was a US citizen, she felt that Canada and her own country were similar in many ways, but different in others.

One thing that she wasn't looking forward to was the infamous Canadian winters. Where she grew up, it could get very cold during the winter, but she didn't think that it would be as bad as it was in New Cardiff. The weather was pleasant now but that was still because it was summer. When Winter came, she thought that she would struggle cope without using her abilities.

But this was still a problem that Selena would have to face when the time came and for now, all she could do was make a good impression to the people of New Cardiff. Most likely, many wouldn't even notice her since Louise normally the centre of attention wherever she went. It was something that she simply couldn't help thanks to her gigantic size and warm personality. Although there was always the threat that things might take a turn for the worse in the near future.
