For the next several days, Louise spent as much time as she could with her family and especially Thomas. At one point in time, she even performed an unofficial visit to the fishing shop that was owned by her father. Many people in the local area knew who she was and that she was a Guardian.

When she arrived at the outside of the shop, her sudden appearance did attract a lot of attention, and many were happy to meet the local heroine. Louise was of course more than happy to meet these people and even posed when she had photographs taken of her. A few of the children were even allowed to step on her hand and have her pick them up. Thankfully, she took great care with this as the last thing that she wanted was to drop any of them.

In turn, her father's shop took a lot of money that day. Even though many of the customers who bought something had no interest in fishing whatsoever. Although many of them were disappointed that there was no Louise related merchandise inside of the shop. Even though there wasn't too much of those sorts of things that could be sold.

There was some shock from the people who visited thanks to Louise's glowing red eyes. This made some believe that she could be a copy of some kind and that the original Louise was still in Canada. Such a thing would normally be considered preposterous but since they lived in a world where there were people with superhuman abilities. It was possible that such a thing could occur.

The activities that Thomas took part in with his oversized mother were those that many would consider to be normal. But given the size of Louise, these activities were anything but normal. This included taking her son to a park where of course, no other mother who was there with her child could measure up to her. It also meant that any child who even considered picking on Thomas would immediately decide not to when they realised that his mother was a literal giantess.

Something else that Louise did with her family was go to a Sunday Mass. It was little things like this in her life that she missed the most. Not so much going to Mass since she was able to attend to those taking place in New Cardiff. Rather, it was because she was able to attend them with her family which made them so special.

Even with her glowing eyes, the local priest still accepted her as part of the community. He had known her for her entire life and had even Christened her in the very church that she had come to pray that day. As far as he had been concerned, she was still a child of God and was using the gifts that she had been given to make the world a better place.

During this visit, rather than spending all the time with Louise and her family. Elizabeth and Selena decided to go sightseeing around the local area. They did enjoy taking in the beautiful countryside found in the South of France. Even a visit to a local vineyard was quite eventful to say the least.

During the tour of the property, Elizabeth was encouraged to take part in the crushing of the grapes so that the wine could be made. However, when she tried to crush them using her feet herself, she had done so to the point that all that was left was mush and completely unusable to make wine. This had completely taken the owners of the vineyard by surprise as they had no idea of her incredible strength.

Unfortunately, the two Guardians and their apprentice found themselves at the same airport that they had been a few days before. The Espoir family were the only civilians who were allowed to be there. The matriarch and patriarch of the family were doing their best not to show their emotions.

Ginnie was also trying her best not to cry as she was more than sad to see her big sister leaving once more. The only reason she was trying to fight back the tears was the simple fact that she was trying to keep it together for her nephew. Thomas was present and if he saw the rest of the family upset, it was likely that he too would begin to cry uncontrollably over the events.

The giantess herself found herself kneeling in front of her family with her son in her hand. More than anything, she wanted to be there for him and watch him grow up. Doing so through a computer screen was one thing. But actually, being there for him was something else entirely.

"Maman où vas-tu?" asked Thomas as he looked into the gigantic, glowing red eyes of his mother.

"Maman doit rentrer au Canada," replied Louise who continued smile even though deep down her heart was breaking. "Tu sais comment Dieu a donné ces pouvoirs à maman? J'ai besoin d'utiliser ces pouvoirs pour aider les gens." She knew that the excuse that she was giving didn't justify not being there for her son. But she was trying her best and in what was a very difficult situation.

"Mais j'ai besoin de toi maman." By this point in time, the boy had grabbed onto Louise's thumb that had been risen up.

Upon hearing this and seeing his actions. Louise couldn't help but begin to shed her own tears as she didn't want to leave her son behind again. This part of the visit was something that she knew would happen ever since she realised that she was in France again. But simply getting to it was more painful than she could have ever expected.

In an ideal world, Louise could be both a Guardian and a mother at the same time. Unfortunately, such a choice was completely out of her hands and if God did give her these abilities to help people. She felt as though she needed to use them for that cause, but she was struggling to justify why it meant that she had to be away from her son.

"Thomas, il n'y a rien au monde de plus important pour moi que toi. T'avoir comme fils m'apporte plus de joie que tout ce que je pourrais décrire. Je veux être ici avec toi, crois-moi. Mais je ne peux pas faire ça." She brought him closer to her cheek as a way to hug him. "Mais ne pensez pas que c'est un adieu pour toujours. Je promets que je reviendrai et que nous pourrons encore parler tous les jours. Tu peux me dire comment tu t'en sors à l'école et quels poissons tu as pêché avec grand-père."

"D'accord maman." He was still sad to think that his mother was going away again. Even though he was told that she was only visiting, a part of him had hoped that Louise would stay with him. They had a lot of fun together and he was simply glad to be spending time with his mother.

Even so, Louise found herself hugging her son and the rest of her family as it was simply time for them to leave. In her mind, Louise was thinking of how she could stay with them and continue to live as a happy family. Unfortunately, the only way for this to happen was to go AWOL and that was something that she couldn't do without serious consequences. Even so, there was the temptation.

Despite whatever she felt, she knew that her duty was important because of this. After giving her family a hug and a kiss, she found herself standing up and climbing into the back of the aeroplane. Thomas wanted to run towards her as she had walked away but his grandfather had stopped him.

He promised his grandson that one day before long that his mother would be able to stay with them. This did little to cheer up the saddened boy and his cries were heard by Louise. Each moment that she heard it shattered her heart more and more. She wanted to not look over to him as she walked away as she knew that being able to see him would only cause her even more pain.

But just before she was about to climb into the aeroplane. She did turn around so that she could see Thomas. Rather than bursting into tears upon the sight of him, the cheerful giantess gave him a smile and even posed as if she was taking a picture with a fan. This in turn did make the young boy crack a smile as he could see how warm and happy his mother was. Also pulling the pose seemed quite funny to him and she even closed her eyes and waved towards him as she climbed inside of the aeroplane.

During this time, Elizabeth and Selena watched on and they too had found it quite upsetting to watch. In a way, they couldn't help but feel as though what they had done to her was worse than any growth spurt or change in her appearance. They had allowed her to be with her family and were now having to take her away again.

It was like having the heart ripped out of the giantess and holding it in front of her very eyes. Louise was a strong woman, but there were even some things that no amount of strength could protect her from. Even being one of the physically most powerful people in the world, still couldn't prepare her for something like this.

Even after the plane had taken off and the group found themselves flying further and further away from France, Louise couldn't stop herself from crying. Even the tears that she shed glowed red for a few moments after they had fallen, before then turning into a more regular colour.

But as she found herself sitting in the hangar of the plane as it flew, she also felt something grab onto her hand. It took her a few moments to look down and when she did, she could see that it was her mentors. Elizabeth and Selena could feel her pain and wanted to do everything they could to help her.

The truth was that they couldn't really do anything to ease the pain. But they were still picked up and embraced in a hug by Louise as she was thankful to have people like them in her life. They were very important to her, but the most important person in her life had been left behind in France once more.

A sweet chapter. Aside from the difficulty in telling her family her secret, I am surprised there a wasn't a bigger incident. Louise better savor this peaceful moment with her family. Something tells me she won't see them in quite awhile.
