Guardians Of The Northern City: Chapter 114

The next thing that Serena knew, she was in a world of electricity as once again. She was glad that she had escaped her capture but was more than pleased to know that she had found some evidence. The name of the person who had temporarily captured her might not be known to her for the moment, but she thought that it was only a matter of time before she learned.

Now, her biggest concern was finding her way back to Elizabeth’s apartment and then tell her everything that she had just been through. Finding the home of her mentor out of the thousands that were in New Cardiff was difficult to say the least. But she was carefully able to narrow down the location with some trial and error and much to her relief, she soon found herself right next to a lamp.

Sitting in the chair right next to the small table, she could see her former mentor sitting there. It took a moment for Serena to remember that it was not Elizabeth who was a giantess, even though she was seven feet tall. It was herself who was so small that everything looked gigantic in comparison.

There was a smell about her that Serena did recognise, it was one that she wasn’t particularly fond of. A smell that used to be quite common with Elizabeth as the tiny woman looked at her mentor closer. She could see the glazed over expression on her face and how she was moving slightly.

“Elizabeth?” asked Serena with a tone of concern in her voice. She stepped a little closer to her mentor. It almost seemed as though the much larger woman was stirring from a slumber as she lazily looked towards her and smiled.

“Oh hey Serena,” replied Elizabeth as she seemed to be genuinely happy to see her former apprentice. “You’re so lickle, I could just swallow you whole.”

“A-Are you drunk?” This did worry her a great deal as she knew full well about Elizabeth’s problems with alcohol in the past. It was the very reason why she had been exiled to Canada in the first place.

“No, haven’t had a drop.”

“Oh…” She then pointed towards the ground where there was an empty bottle of Vodka lying there. The fact that it hadn’t been smashed was nothing short of a miracle as far as she was concerned.

“That bottle down there says otherwise.”

“Oh that, it was just water.”

Serena crossed her arms and simply glared at the much larger woman and this only caused Elizabeth to laugh. Rather than feeling remorseful at all, instead she found it completely comical. She even lowered her finger and began went to stroke her on the head. Serena was able to dodge out of the way as she feared that her mentor would forget her own strength. A head stroke would likely break her neck.

“How could you let this happen?” asked Serena who was more than disappointed in her mentor.

“I put it to my lips and drank,” replied Elizabeth as she laughed once again. Her voice was loud enough to be heard and even hurt the tiny woman’s ears.

“Get a hold of yourself!” Her voice was firm and if anything, it only made Elizabeth laugh even louder.

“Look at you, trying to be so big and yet you’re so itty bitty.” She went to poke her finger at the tiny woman but she instead felt what seemed to be a jolt of electricity run through her. This was one of the few things that could actually harm her.

Elizabeth went flying back somewhat and fell off of the chair that she had been sitting on. The suddenness of it caught her completely by surprise as it had been far from a pleasant experience. The voltage hadn’t been very high and this was what Serena had expected. She hoped that this would be enough to shock her former mentor back to a slightly more sober state.

Instead, it seemed as though it had only made her angry as stood up to her full height and glared down at her former apprentice. Seeing the seven foot woman standing at her full height was one thing, but from Serena’s point of view, it was like she was standing before a true giant.

“What the bloody hell was that!” shouted Elizabeth. Her voice was loud enough to actually be painful for the tiny woman. Even so, the latter stood her ground and remained where she was. Even hiding away the pain that she was feeling as she stood up to the much larger woman.

“I’m trying to get you back to your senses,” replied Serena. Her position seemed to be that of a great disadvantage. She knew that her former mentor could crush her with no effort whatsoever. “Need I remind you that Louise is still missing? What are we going to say to her family, her son?”

“I know, I know!” She slammed her fist against a wall that is close by her. The fact that the wall didn’t smash was nothing short of a miracle. Instead, there were cracks that began to appear around where she had struck the wall. “Do you really think I can face that boy and tell him. I’m sorry but your mommy’s gone. Oh well, better get over it!”

“But drinking isn’t going to make it any better.” There was a glow from her body, it was the same colour of glow that normally radiated from Louise. She then found her point of view beginning to rise.

This hadn’t gone unnoticed by Elizabeth who could see that the tiny woman was beginning to grow taller. However, she couldn’t help but think that it felt a little different to how it had done before. Also the growth spurt seemed to last a very short amount of time. Meaning that her size hadn’t increased too much.

The sadness that had been felt by Elizabeth was suddenly replaced by uncontrolled laughter as she looked at the now tiny beanpole that was Serena. Her natural height had increased quite dramatically, but it didn’t make her that much bigger than she was before. If she had been her regular size and grown, she would have reached around nine feet in height. But her actual size hadn’t increased that much at all.

“Look at you,” laughed Elizabeth as she pointed at her former apprentice. Her laugh was loud and uncontrollable. “You look like someone placed you on a rack and then just kept cranking it up.”

“It isn’t funny!” replied Serena as she was looking at her now longer body. She felt as though she was a professional basketball player. Even if she were still the smallest woman in the world at that moment in time. “I don’t know what happened to me.”

At that moment in time, Serena went to take a step forward. But her now longer feet seemed to trip over on herself. Sending the tiny woman falling and striking the ground in front of her. Rather than showing sympathy, Elizabeth simply burst out laughing and seemed to be even pointed at her.

This only annoyed Serena even more as she got back up to her feet. Normally she would have said something about this but her own confusion made her unable to do such a thing. Instead she was just trying to regain her bearings and adjust to her new body. Even if the change was likely to be temporary.

Even though she was back up to her full height, she couldn’t help but stagger for a moment or two as she was adjusting to her longer legs. She couldn’t help but feel as though she was walking on stilts and it was extremely bizarre for her. However, there was something that she did feel within her.

This came in the form of a hiccup. She saw her height suddenly decrease, even though she still had a very tall frame. It seemed to not be as tall as it had been just a few moments ago. But this instantly changed as she felt another hiccup blurt out of her mouth. Thus, causing her to lose more height.

For the next several moments she continued to hiccup and thus, her height continued to diminish. Eventually, her frame became like that as it had been before, even if she was still very small. She sighed in relief but she did hear the laughter of Elizabeth who found the entire thing comical.

Serena was about to say something until she felt another hiccup come up and her height decreased further. Now making it look as though her body was on the short side. Even worse, she could feel another hiccup coming.
