From her vantage point, Natasha could see the body languages of the people who were trying to attack her and Nadine. It was clear for both Holy Knights to see that these people were desperate. If the kingdom wasn't on the brink of a famine, then it was likely that these bandits would just be living peaceful lives.
As a vow of a Holy Knight, Natasha and Nadine were meant to protect the subjects of Britannia, but it didn't mean that they couldn't defend themselves. Even the intimidating stature of the very large woman standing before them didn't seem to bring any reconsideration to their minds. Their desperation was simply too great for any other line of thought.
There was a cry of both fear and effort as one of the bandits who was carrying a rake lunged forward towards the two women. Mere moments later, the others also seemed to attack in the hopes that they could somehow overcome the odds. They might have had the numbers advantage but that was nothing if their opponent was really that powerful.
Nadine thought that she could end this encounter quickly if she used a shrinking spell in order to shrink her attackers. But after what had happened to the cow that they had used as bait, she didn't want any of them to shrink to nothingness. It was something that she couldn't risk at all.
Not just that, but she was still holding the bottle that contained Diane. The entrapped giantess looked upon the battle that was about to take place. Every word had been heard from within her glass prison and many feelings were swirling through her body. Most prominently was a sense of guilt as she knew that deep down, she was the reason why this was all taking place. Her own unusual growth spurt and insatiable hunger was the cause of the ongoing crisis within the kingdom.
The rake came close to striking Natasha's leg but she was able to stop it with a mere swing of her sword. Thankfully for her, it was still proportional for her overall size and so she was able to wield it with as much ease as she had before. The large weapon was able to cut the rake in half as if it was merely made out of paper.
The others continued to lunge forward towards the fifteen-foot Holy Knight and hoped that they would be too much for her to defend all at once. One thing that Natasha did have to keep in mind though was that she needed to continue protecting Nadine. Meaning that she couldn't really move from the spot that she had found herself in.
However, such a thing was becoming more and more difficult for her as she was having to defend herself from multiple angles. There was even one point when a pitchfork had slashed against her thigh. Thankfully, it hadn't been able to cut too deeply but it was still enough for her to screech with some pain.
Such a sound was a shock to the ears of Nadine who knew that she had to act quickly as Natasha began to nurse her wound. She hoped that using a low-level spell might just be enough to end this conflict without anyone getting hurt. But with how things had been going for her and her colleague. It was still a huge risk that she was about to take.
"Sma…" stated Nadine as she began to speak the spell that she had been hoping to use. But her words were immediately cut off when she suddenly felt something strike her head. Like Natasha before her, she had been struck by a rock which immediately cancelled out the spell that she had been attempting to cast.
This was unfortunately not the worst of it though as she suddenness of the strike had completely taken Nadine by surprise and made her stagger back and instinctively lift her hand to her head. This action caused her to release her grip on the glass bottle that was containing the entrapped Diane.
The spellcaster didn't even realise what she had done until she heard a sound that sent a wave of fear through the bodies of both Holy Knights. When Natasha heard it, she too turned her head around and for a moment. She had forgotten that she was in the middle of a life-or-death situation.
To the attackers, the sound was merely that of a glass bottle smashing on the ground. To them, it was possible that the Holy Knights had dropped some kind of alcoholic drink but as one of them looked towards where the sound had come from. As expected, they could see numerous shards of glass on the ground.
But there was something else that they could see, something that they hadn't been able to expect. Standing on the ground was by far the tiniest woman that they had ever seen. They could also see Natasha and Nadine looking towards this minute figure with a look of absolute fear on their faces.
"Oh no," said Natasha since as far as she was concerned, the worst-case scenario had just taken place. Not only was her change of glory now dashed away but also the end of Britannia might just be around the corner.
The tiny figure that had been smashed out of the bottle seemed to be doing something that was somewhat expected from the point of view of the bandits. She was beginning to grow and already within a few moments, she was around knee height to an average person. However, once again as expected, she was continuing to grow.
With every passing moment, Diane continued to grow bigger and bigger. Within moments, she had become the size of a human being and for the bandits, they expected her to stop growing. The Holy Knights knew otherwise though as they saw the growth spurt continuing before them.
When the growing giantess's height had reached around ten feet, the bandits began to become a little worried. But there was something else that they were beginning to realise as well. A sense of recognition was overtaking them as some of them had seen Diane during her travels around Britannia.
The growth spurt was continuing with the elongated giantess coming more and more into view. Even growing above the trees that were around her and making Natasha feel small once again. Fear was overtaking everyone there as Diane continued to grow and the bandits knew for certain who this being actually was.
"It's her!" shouted one of the Bandits while pointing up to the growing giantess. "The Walking Apocalypse!"
"Run for your lives!" shouted another Bandit in a state of panic.
Immediately, all of them ran as fast as they could away from what to them was the monster that was destroying the kingdom. In their haste to escape, they dropped whatever weapons they had been wielding. Any thoughts of stealing had been completely flushed out of their minds as they simply just wanted to get away.
The two Holy Knights remained and both of them also felt some terror. Nadine quickly moved closer to the now standing Natasha in the hopes that she could protect her somehow. The truth was that no one would be able to protect them from Diane if she tried to harm them. All they could do was pray that the angels were smiling down on them and that they could survive in one piece.
Eventually the growth spurt did end but by that point in time, Diane was by far the tallest thing in the surrounding area. One thing that the Holy Knights were glad about was the fact that she hadn't grown any larger than she already was before being captured. Her sheer leg length was still a sight to behold by anyone witnessing. She might have looked somewhat bizarre, but it still brought fear to the two Holy Knights.
Their presence hadn't gone unnoticed by Diane either. She looked down at them and could see them both cowering as they were sure that this time, she was going to take out some form of vengeance on them. Their thoughts of glory were replaced by the hope of mere survival at this point in time.
"I'm sorry," said Diane as a single tear rolled down her cheek and landed on the ground several moments later. Upon hearing this and seeing the body language of the elongated giantess, Nadine's fear was put to one side.
Without saying another word, Diane simply stepped over where the Holy Knights were standing and began to walk away. This caught Natasha by surprise as she quickly turned around and watched as their chance of glory was literally stepping away from them. She held her sword tightly and went to move forward.
She was quickly stopped when she felt something grab onto her leg. As she looked down, she could see Nadine looking up at her. There was a stern expression on her face as she looked up to her colleague.
"What are you doing?" asked Natasha with a hint of frustration in her voice. "We need to stop her and…"
"No, she's no longer a threat," replied Nadine. She then looked towards Diane who was stepping further and further away from them with every passing moment. "She's finally realised how her actions have been affecting others. I don't think we'll have to fear her anymore."
"But where is she going?" She too looked towards Diane and she hoped that her colleague was correct.
"I don't know and I doubt that she knows either."
This was more true than Nadine realised as Diane just continued to walk in a straight line. Her seismic senses allowed her to avoid major settlements and her mind was too clouded to think of a decent strategy. All she wanted to do was to remove herself from Britannia itself so that the kingdom could recover from her unintentional reign of terror.
She watched as people fled from her when she appeared over the horizon. Like before, they all thought that she was going to eat their food and leave them with none. Many had already had to make sacrifices in order to survive, now they thought that it wouldn't be enough.
Diane's trek didn't seem to be ending, even when hunger and fatigue began to set in. It wasn't too long before she reached the coastline of the kingdom. However, rather than stopping her journey, she simply continued on as if it wasn't even there. From the point of view of anyone watching on, it would look as though she was walking on the water itself.
This wasn't the case although she didn't realise it. She was instinctively creating steppingstones that would rise up from the water moments before her foot would step onto it. Once her foot had lost contact with it, it would sink back down into the ocean as if it had never been there.
For hours and hours, she walked until finally fatigue finally overcame her. By now, there was no land visible for hundreds and hundreds of miles in every direction. More than anything, she wanted to continue walking but she simply couldn't go on another step. It even got to the point where she collapsed from sheer exhaustion.
However, rather than striking the water, Diane's body instead landed on a small land mass that had risen from the water thanks to her abilities acting on instinct. This prevented the elongated giantess from drowning in the ocean and she was already fast asleep. The truth was that she was out before she had even struck the ground.
Without realising it, Diane had created her own little island to rest on and she continued to sleep soundly, although she was still hungry. She might have been the greatest threat that Britannia had ever known, but now she was in self-imposed exile and was unlikely to ever return to her home.
One thing that had gone unnoticed by the sleeping giantess was the fact that the flat and barren island that she created was slowly expanding around her. At first, it had only been large enough for her to sleep on. As she continued to slumber, more and more of the seabed was being pushed up around her makeshift island. Slowly but surely, the island was increasing in size while Diane peacefully slept.

Poor Diane, I feel sorry for her. Why didn't the rest of the sins go looking for her knowing everything that was happening?
