The two mysterious women were somewhat fatigued after their long journey but neither of them had time to rest. Both were more than aware of why they had come to Hallford and what these people had gone through. To a bandit, this would be the perfect opportunity to steal everything that the townspeople owned. But thankfully for them, that was not why these women had arrived there that day.
Word of the arrival of the two women had quickly reached the ears of Mayor and immediately they were escorted to his office. His job recently had been more than difficult to say the least as his town had been going through a crisis unlike anything that they had ever experienced before. It was insane for him to think that in the space of a few minutes, Hallford had been a prosperous town that had been a great example for others around the area. Now it was struggling to feed its own people. All thanks to an elongated giantess who had eaten every scrap of food in town.
"My ladies," said the Mayor as he sat behind his desk. "Thank you very much for coming here on such short notice."
"You're welcome but as Holy Knights we can't help but feel that our duty here is not warranted," replied the Tall Woman. She had her arms crossed and she was making sure that she looked large and in charge. "Plus I also find that your story is still a little suspicious. You claim that Diane of the Seven Deadly Sins ate all the food in Hallford."
"What I sent to you was the truth. Everything happened exactly as written, including her recent change."
"When you say recent change, do you mean her increased size?" asked the Shorter Woman. There was a look of curiosity on her face. She knew that Diane was very large but if what was described in the letter was correct, she was quite far beyond the average giant. "I know that seeing a giant for the first time can be quite overwhelming."
"Once again, what I wrote was the truth, every word of it. I demand justice for what that monster did to my town. Holy Knights are supposed to protect us from threats like this." He knew that there was nothing that the Holy Knights could of done at the time, but his frustration was getting the better of him.
"That is why we're here," stated the Tall Woman. "Even if she is a member of the Seven Deadly Sins, she cannot be excused for her actions. She will be brought to justice one way or another."
"Make sure that she is, I want that freak to pay for what she has done!" He slammed his fist on his desk as he said this, a clear sign that he was more than serious about what he had just said. Never had he felt such rage within his being, but he wanted to more than show just how angry he was with the abnormal giantess.
It wasn't too long afterwards that the two women found themselves travelling in the direction that they knew that Diane had travelled. There was still some nervousness amongst them as they knew that things wouldn't be as straightforward as they had hoped. But the day was still long and they did hope that they would be able to track down and defeat their enemy, even if she was supposed to be very powerful.
In a way, it was fairly easy for them to follow Diane's trail. Her large boots had left footprints in the ground. If the two women had any doubts about her size, they were more than convinced when they saw the sheer size of the footprints. No regular giant could leave prints like that and they did realise that they might have gotten over their heads.
"Do you still think that this is a good idea Natasha?" asked the Short Woman. There was some nervousness in her voice as she spoke. "I'm beginning to think that this might be one big mistake."
"Of course it is a good idea!" replied Natasha. It was clear that out of the pair that she was the one in charge. The shield that she was carrying was strapped to her back and the sword was attached to her belt. "If we can track down and defeat a member of the Seven Deadly Sins, we'll become legends for sure."
"But you said that we're Holy Knights, even though we're only in training."
"Don't remind me of that, Nadine!" This made her somewhat embarrassed as she thought that she would have earned the title of Holy Knight by now. "But after today, that's something that we won't have to worry about."
"If you say so, I still think that we're getting way over our heads. You saw the size of those footprints, it's clear that Diane is bigger than a normal giant."
"That's why you need to shrink her. If I remember correctly, you said that you were specialising in size magic. Am I right?"
"Y-Yes, but I wouldn't say that I'm an expert just yet. There's still plenty that I need to learn before I can say that I've mastered it."
"You don't need to be a master, you just need be powerful enough to reduce her to a more manageable size. Then when she's small enough, I'll use my superior strength and fighting skills to defeat her. After that we collect our reward and finally earn the rank of official Holy Knight. It's fool proof, I tell you."
"But even at human size, isn't Diane still supposed to be really powerful?"
"Not as powerful as me, I'm sure. Our glory is close at hand, all we need to do is follow the plan and everything will go our way."
Meanwhile, Diane herself was still trying to make her way to Merlin. But she was becoming confused as the journey was taking longer than she had expected. Given her new size and frame, she was sure that she would have arrived in no time at all. But it seemed as though she was just walking and not making much progress.
The ground around her did shake with every step that she took. This was something that she hadn't really noticed that aspect. Instead, she was just focused on trying to get to her destination and hopefully fix her situation. In the pit of her stomach, she was beginning the sensation of being hungry. It didn't feel as great as it had been before when she had eaten all the food in Hallford. But it would likely reach a point where she would have to satisfy it before she had another argument with her stomach.
"I wonder if there's anything that I can eat around here," said Diane to herself. She was looking around a little to see if she could spot anything that she thought was edible. However, all she could see was fields for as far as the eye could see.
Her long legs were traversing the landscape much faster than she normally could and she was sure that she would be making progress. However, there was something on the ground that did gain her attention. It was even enough for her to make her stop in her tracks and look towards it.
Not too far from where the elongated giantess was standing, she could see a lake not far from her feet. The most striking thing about it wasn't anything to do with its size or what she could see on the banks. Instead, it was the fact that it almost had all of its water drained away from it. Not too dissimilar to the lake that she had visited just a short time earlier and had drunk from.
"Huh, that's weird," said Diane as she looked down at the lake. It was clear that there was supposed to be a lot more water within lake that had simply been drained out.
There was something else that the bizarre looking giant woman did notice as well. Right next to the lake were several footprints that were gigantic in size. This more than caught her by surprise as from the scale of these prints, it was clear that whoever had left them had a stature that rivalled her own.
"I-Is there another giant around here? No, it can't be." She was more than confused as she was sure that if there was another giant in the area, they wouldn't be anywhere near her height. Even if there were, she would definitely have noticed them.
The print that was left on the ground was clearly left by someone who was wearing boots and there was even a slight heel to them as well. This caused her even more confusion and she began to consider something that to her was annoying but also a distinct possibility at this point in time.
Carefully, Diane placed her own foot down on the shoeprint and she looked down. In a way, she wasn't surprised but yet she was when she noticed that her foot matched the print exactly. It was clear to her that these shoeprints were her own and this was indeed the lake that she had drank out of earlier.
"No this can't be," stated Diane with surprise and frustration in her voice. "I walked in a circle? But how, I was sure that I was going the right way, how did I end up back here again?"
One thing that the elongated giantess hadn't realised that when she had grown to the stature that she was, there had been something that changed in her mind as well. When her body had compensated to allow her to walk while maintaining her balance. It had come at a cost of her sense of direction.
When she thought that she had been going the right way, she instead had just been walking back on herself. Minor changes had occurred in her brain and ears that had caused this to happen. It was all changes that she couldn't understand but it had been enough to change her view of the world around her.
All she could do after this realisation was continue to try and make her way to Merlin and hope that this time, she would go the right way. Not realising that she was being tracked down and that her current predicament would play to her pursuers' advantage.

Hmm water that makes one lose their sense of direction? Mighty weird but that allows the 2 newcomers to catch up to Diane. Looking forward to the future size shenanigans by the size wizard. ![]()
