Nadine couldn't help but blush as she could feel herself sitting on the shoulder of her fairly gigantic friend and colleague Natasha. She admitted that this was easier for her thanks to the size difference between them. But it was still something that she found to be embarrassing despite the benefit of it.
Natasha wasn't feeling any embarrassment whatsoever. Instead, she walked with a spring in her step and a huge smile on her face. She had an arm over the legs of Nadine in order to keep her in place and every now and again, she would look at the leggy former giantess in the bottle.
At that moment in time, it was Nadine who was holding onto the bottle that contained Diane. All of her attempts to escape from her glass prison had been for naught and with her growing uneasiness within her, she found herself sitting down with her back leaning on the glass. She had tried to bring her knees up so that she could rest her chin on them. Only for her to remember that her thighs were far too long to do something like that. Instead, she could only sit there and be confused about the situation at hand.
The fact that she had been captured wasn't the source of her confusion. Instead, it was why she had been imprisoned that she couldn't figure out. As far as she had been concerned, she had just been minding her own business when two Holy Knights had attacked her without provocation and was now holding her against her will.
"Why are you doing this to me?" asked Diane as she looked up to the seemingly gigantic spellcaster. "What did I do to deserve this?"
"What did you do?" replied Nadine with some disbelief in her voice. She looked down at the bottled giantess and was speaking before she properly spoke. "You're telling me that you don't realise all the harm that you've done?" Diane remained silent as she didn't know what actions she had done to cause such a reaction. "You're probably the greatest threat to the people of Britannia."
"I know I was bigger than usual but there's no height limit to living in this kingdom." She still couldn't fathom what this was all about. No matter how much she thought about it, her mind was bringing up a blank.
"It isn't so much your height which is the problem. It's your appetite that's causing so much problems." Her voice began to take a slightly more aggressive tone as she thought about all the chaos and fear that had happened because of this now seemingly tiny woman in the bottle. "Do you fully understand just how much you're eating? Everyday you eat enough to feed a town, no an entire city. Then you just go to sleep and repeat the whole thing over and over again." She was about to use the phrase about a particular object didn't grow on trees. But since some food did grow on trees, she realised that she shouldn't use this phrase. "All that food that you've been consuming means that the people of Britannia go hungry. Right now, you've eaten enough food to feed the entire kingdom several times over. Your antics are on the verge of causing a famine.
"I-I did that?" In the mind of the bottled giantess, Diane was trying convince herself that what she was being told was some sort of outlandish lie. But as she thought about it, she began to realise just how much she had actually eaten since she had changed. Even though her mind had been altered after she had her growth spurt, she still remembered one thing from many years ago.
Diane could vaguely remembered that she had sworn to protect Britannia and the people within. Her actions had done the exact opposite of her oath as she had brought far more harm to the kingdom in recent times than good. She thought that there might have been some way to have prevented this anarchy from taking place.
Unfortunately, the simple truth was that her new bigger and taller body simply meant that it demanded the sustenance that it needed to function. Her actions had simply meant that she had been ensuring her own survival but it had come at the cost of the people around her. A sense of guilt overtook her unlike any that she had ever felt before. Even a tear rolled down her face as she thought about all the harm that she had done.
Suddenly Natasha stopped in her tracks, she had been listening to everything that was being said between Nadine and Diane but her chosen to stay quiet. It was true that she blamed her current situation on the elongated giantess. However, it wasn't their conversation that had caused her to stop where she was.
"Why have you stopped?" asked Nadine as she looked at her colleague. It was still strange to see their differences in size but at this moment in time, it was the last thing that was on her mind.
"I think I saw something," replied Natasha. She was sure that she had seen a bush near where they were walking begin to move unnaturally just a few moments ago. Almost as if there had been something hiding inside.
Carefully she took Nadine off of her shoulder and placed her down to the ground. She drew out her very large sword and kept a tight grip on it. Her colleague too seemed to sense that there was something not right as well but there was one problem that faced the spellcaster in particular.
Although Nadine more than wanted to provide support to her towering colleague, she also had to be very careful. She was still holding the bottle that contained Diane and if it were to be smashed or have the cork removed. Then the elongated giantess would be freed and likely lead to a full-blown famine within the kingdom.
There was further movement that was spotted just in front of them. However, it wasn't in the same bush that they had spotted a few moments earlier. Instead, it was one that was over the other side. There was even what sounded like a bird call but there was something abnormal about it. Almost as if it were fake.
"Nadine stay close to me," said Natasha as she glanced down to what to her was her very short companion. Nadine said nothing but just nodded and did exactly what she was told to do.
Just then they saw what looked to be around half a dozen people suddenly slip out of the bushes that had been scattered along the path. All of them looked to be wearing robes and hoods in order to obscure their faces. This would make identifying them much more difficult and would allow them to hopefully get away with their crimes.
There was a small amount of shock from these hooded figures as they looked up to the towering Natasha. For the briefest of moments, they even considered backing down and letting the two women on their way. But their own desperation compelled them on as they hoped that their sheer numbers could win them the day.
"Hand over whatever food or valuables you have!" stated the Hooded Figure who was standing the closest to Natasha and Nadine. They hadn't noticed Diane in the bottle yet but for the moment, they had bigger things to worry about. Each of the figures had a weapon in their hands consisting of knives, rakes, a spear and even slingshot. "D-Don't make us have to take it by force!"
There was clearly some nervousness amongst the hooded figures as the one that just spoken was also putting on a fake accent. This was to further hide their identity and even had tried to change their pitch to help mask their true self. Their weapons were also not what it seemed as they seemed to be quite old and even used more as tools than anything else.
Natasha was far from impressed with what she was seeing and she thought that intimidation might be the best course of action. That way, they could win this encounter and not have to harm anyone at all. However, from everything that she could see, the people in front of her were desperate which also made them unpredictable.
"I seriously advise you to reconsider your actions!" stated Natasha. She too put on a voice, but rather than to mask her identity. It was instead used to make herself more intimidating and emphasise her size and position. "We are Holy Knights of the Britannia and your actions will be considered to be treason! Let us pass or else you will face a wrath that even the belittles that of Meliodas!"
Natasha thought that she had done a good job in her intimidation tactic. By mentioning treason and the leader of the Seven Deadly Sins, she thought that it would be enough to cause the thieves to disperse. However, this idea came to a sudden end when she felt something strike her head.
The towering woman wasn't even sure what it was that had struck her head as she thought that none of them would be able to reach this part of her body. It took her a moment to realise that it was in fact a rock that had been launched from the slingshot and if she had been any normal person. The blow could have caused her some damage, but thanks to her size and natural durability, all that it did was annoy her.
"Hey who threw that?" asked Natasha in her intimidating tone. Although she knew who the culprit was, she still wanted to use her intimidation tactics to try and resolve the situation quickly.
The towering woman glared over to the hooded figure with the slingshot and she could see them shaking in their boots. But it also seemed as though their actions had been enough to cause the others to suddenly charge towards the two Holy Knights. This was the exact opposite of what they had wanted but now with the first strike, they felt as if it was now or never.
Natasha purposely made sure that she was standing in front of Nadine so to not only give her some protection but to also ensure that the bottle wasn't damaged at all. However, this might be more difficult than she had expected as this small skirmish might very well determine the fate of the entire kingdom.
