Sweetbriar is a settlement forged on the blood, sweat and tears of hard labor. Their ancestors were farmers who sailed in from across the ocean, a famine drove them far across the Perrita Kingdom in hopes of finding a better life. They worshiped the Goddess for their daily bread and butter, feeling Her blessings due to their closeness with nature and its elements. Some mistake the homely close knit feel of Sweetbriar as weakness, they regard those within their fold with warmth and community, never letting one stray from the flock if they can help it. If one goes down, beware, you’ll surely be bringing the rest of Sweetbriar after you.
They like their calm way of life, rising with the sun to work the fields and check on their neighbors. There are offerings to the Goddess on Sundays and during the Harvest Moon they celebrate their exodus that brought them to Potcake all those seasons ago. However, recently, they have felt the weight of the feuding between Silversword and Mugwort. Both parties seem to expect Sweetbriar to pick a side, much to their annoyance. Recently, its gotten pushy from both towns and when push comes to shove, you know Sweetbriar, they’ll knock you back down. Silversword wants to branch further down the mountain into the valley and disturb their way of life, and then there’s Mugwort being its own fear mongering nuisance on the other side of the forest… Refusing is hard when you depend on both for trade. There is fear of being cut off from funding. Shaking one's off of the pests is difficult and its for that reason Sweetbriar has closed its borders to such intruding. It doesn’t help the wild animals around the area have gotten so hostile, with Sweetbriar being so remote there have been too many horror stories of strange beasts ripping livestock apart and assaulting its villagers… They've gotten leery and tired, weary of everything around them like skittish rabbits. Just how long until the tension finally snaps? For a group who just wants to keep their Goddess happy, they wonder why they are being punished so much by the land and towns around them. That strange statue in the heart of Buttonwillow Woods seems to acting with some source of odd power...
Grand Opening Delay [Update 2.0]
:new: 4/9/2020 Hello Potcakes, I hope everyone is doing well despite what is happening to the world right now in the wake of Covid19. Wash your hands and try to stay out of public, stay safe and well. I am here to announce some news concerning the grand opening date. We decided to delay it again due to some unexpected delays on the side of us the staff. From computer issues delaying art to illness, we've been distracted. There's been a lot of changes we are still finalizing and trying to adapt to the group the best we can for everyone. We don't have a date set, as the new game system is still in the works and we're waiting on art for the ho
