Potcake Island exists in the Perrita Kingdom, a nation of caninekind that exists all over the world. Perrita Kingdom is merely the backdrop to the RP itself, existing only in spurts and mentions. The country itself is reminiscent of the usual brand of fantasy-styled villages and towns, including cities that are entering a hybridized state of industrial and mythical in how they run themselves. There are no humans in this universe nor are there normal animals. Anything caninekind existing IS the humanity that replaced them, since they never existed to begin with. Animals are a strange mix of different kinds, nothing of the real world and completely fantastical in their designs and behavior.
The Races - Canina, Demibeasts, Kinejo and Koigi
There are four playable species you can choose to create. You can read them in depth in this journal HERE but we will give you the basic run down of what these Caninekind are in short clip notes.
- Canina refers to anything that is a normal canine, being dogs, foxes, dingos, wolves, coyotes, and the such. They don't have anything magical about them.
- Demibeasts are large and massive lion-like dog monsters that have long manes and serve the Goddess Herself, they have amazing strength and can heal themselves via a stone slumber.
- Kinejo are slim and slender fox/dog-like creatures with one large bushy tail and many smaller, thinner tails. They have horns and with their beautiful tails, access to spells that involve illusions, futuresight, teleportation and many more.
- Koigi are long-bodied and cute little critters resembling that of a dog, otter and koi fish. They can either have shiney scales or thin fur coats. They posses a strong tail for swimming and fish-like fins on their heads, elbows and spines. Koigis are expert swimmers.
Clothing and Technology
Clothing is an optional design aspect you can put on your dog. The Perrita Kingdom enjoy dressing up, whether it be shirts, dresses, shawls or simply collars, bows and hats, there are many ways to individualize your character. There are some rules concerning dress codes in the group, mostly for the sake of having a world that feels like it co-exists as one entity. Modern clothing is not allowed. There can however be modern elements, such as how Legend of Korra, Treasure Planet and Harvest Moon do their clothing styles. The general style we like to nickname it as is '1900s Medieval Fantasy', mostly like Rune Factory and Harvest Moon. If you are unsure your clothing will fit the style of the group, feel free to describe it to the admins or sketch it out for approval. We plan to not be overly critical but please try to conform to the theme!
The Perrita Kingdom depends on Mythic Ore in order to keep its power up and running. Electricity was not really invented by Caninekind, however they learned to harness the strange energy of the precious stones to bring light and production to its many larger cities. These small magics help with daily life. It helps waterwheels run, windmills spin and keep lanterns lit. Indoor plumbing has become much more convenient thanks to this. Usually powered by a series of tall buildings that rotate with the giant chunks of ore [usually called Generators], these larger towers spread out an ‘aura’ to other areas using smaller power conductors of Mythic, making a chain reaction that keeps going and going for a mile long radius. Mythic Ore is commonly seen in cities with smaller towns and villages only rarely seeming to find a use for it. Silversword is well known for using Mythic Ore to power its town, at the base of Swordlily many can say the very top of the mountain always glows a brilliant blue during the twilight hours. Technology is still in its infancy in a way, there are special kinds of communicators made from ore and stone Caninekind use to speak long distances with as well as old timey radios and televisions that only just recently began to see popular and wide spread use across the country. Wind, steam and water power are also useful to Perrita, though not nearly as much as the Mythic Ore.

Marriage and Offspring
Is there a special sweetheart in your Fido's life? Well then, why not get married? Holy matrimony you say? Yes! Your dog can settle down with the girl or guy of their dreams. There's a few steps to getting there though, but if you've gotten this far to know a one true love, then you have surely done a few of these things without even meaning to!
If you want to get married, your dog has to have had four RPs/ or collab art pieces featuring Fido and his Fifi. We label these specific marriage proofs as 'Heart Events', and they go as followed:
- Black Heart - Your dog has met his sweetheart/had their very first interaction [ofc if they know each other prior via history OOC it'll be the latter]
- Blue Heart - Your dog has spent some time getting to know his sweetheart.
- Yellow Heart - Your dog has spent at least one festival OR event with his sweetheart.
- Red Heart - Your dog has confessed his feelings for his sweetheart [it doesn't have to be a direct 'I Love You', just that your dog and his future spouse knows there is something there!]
You will send these four Heart Events to the admin team [you don't need to label the legit pieces as such, only in the documentation but you are more than welcome to title your RPs/ collab pieces if you want to], we will then approve you for the final step in your quest to tie the knot. pheasant
Now all that is left is to find a Goddess Scale. The inhabitants of Potcake have a specific tradition involving finding a scale from the Goddess herself. Or so they say… In reality, its the tough feathery-like item that comes from the rare Goddess Pheosant. It has beautiful red and blue feathers resembling fire and a long body and elegantly shaped head. They’re hard to find even out in Potcake’s native wilds but nowhere near impossible. If you are truly in love, clearly the hunt for such a find is worth the physical proof of your eternal devotion.
- Get the Scale Quest - This quest involves sending your character out into the wild to hunt down the Pheosant Scale. The admin will roll a dice on which location of Potcake the bird will appear at. We will then roll another dice determining whether or not your character will catch the bird. After, it'll be up to you to either write, roleplay or draw a piece involving your character getting the scale.
