Welcome to A Tale of Tails!
The potcake dog is a mixed-breed dog type found on several Caribbean islands. Its name comes from the congealed peas and rice mixture that local residents traditionally eat, as the overcooked rice that cakes to the bottom of the pot would be fed to the dogs. Although appearance varies, potcakes generally have smooth coats, cocked ears, and long faces. A group of potcakes is known as a parliament.
A Tale of Tails - The last one hundred years have been hectic since the end of the Wulfing Empire and Hunding Kingdom War. Though time has passed, there has been hardly much peace. The Hunding's towns of Silversword, Sweetbriar, and Mugwort share a border with the Wolvern clan's Bloodroot, this place now nicknamed Potcake due to its vast amount of different species living together and the changes to come. The Divine Dog Illysia and the village of Sweetbriar Valley long for unity and peace after so much bloodshed, however, the feuding and tension between Silversword Town and Bloodroot Colony may prevent that despite them being smack dab in the middle of it. Then there is Mugwort dealing with its own tragedies since the war that is slowly finding their way into both Wulfing and Hunding. A sacred tree that bestows life to the land in the heart of Sweetbriar may never bloom again unless the races and towns come together or else they shall fall...
Setting - A semi - Japanese/North American inspired forest/mountain/valley setting with country touch ups and rustic homey backdrops. It is an island set in the middle of the ocean, has many beachside views and beautiful sights. Has lush forests with looming trees and high mountains. There are four villages, first is far in the untamed forest [Mugwort Pack], the second to the west in the hostile cove [Bloodroot Colony], one set upon the base of the mountain [Silversword Town] and the other in the valley [Sweetbriar Valley]. Independent homes do exist scattered about.
Opening plot - The Wulfing Empire and Hunding Kingdom have fought for over a century, so long that it seems peace is never to be in sight. Smack dab in the middle of this fight were the towns of Silversword, Sweetbriar, Mugwort and Bloodroot. In the wake of the tragedies stemming from warfare and the ancient Mugwort golems, peace has been temporarily settled as old wounds try to heal. Of course, this is harder than it sounds, the Divine Dog Ilysia does her best to keep the four towns in harmony but the tension is thick as smog in a foul storm. Mugwort struggles to stay alive as the golems wreck havoc in their territory by kidnapping dogs, acting aggressively as it threatens to wipe out what is left of them. Demibeasts and Kinejo are leered at as scapegoats, having roots ensnared deep into a tree of ancient history with them. Bloodroot comes to terms that war is over and as a battle and dictator-like society, that is hard for them, especially when dogs eye the Wolverns like monsters due to the past aggression. Silversword continues its research into technology and advancement, as well as mining a strange new ore that seems to be luring the golems closer and putting Mugwort on edge. Mugwort has completely isolated itself in a last ditch effort to survive and keep their pride, not hesitating to do away with those they seem a threat to their society. Silversword and Bloodroot hold aggressions with each other due to their direct involvement in the great Wulfing and Hunding War. Sweetbriar who is stuck between Silversword and Bloodroot in the valley at the base of Swordlily Mountain craves unity and peace, a magical tree that provides life magic inside their village threatens to never bloom again should the war continue on, causing the valley to slowly die out. Can Potcake truly become peaceful again as a realm?
