DeviantArt is proud to announce a new opportunity for deviants to contribute to the community at a deeper level! The Ambassador program is designed to give deviants a chance to bring artists together, offer ways for artists to hone their skills or try new things, and help shape the future of the community.  Deviants eligible to participate in the Ambassador program are those who are co-founders or top contributors of official DeviantArt groups or affiliated groups. There are many factors that determine whether or not deviants might be a good fit for the Ambassador program, but all potential ambassadors should: Frequently run or organize community events Routinely be active participants in their community Consistently encourage and cheer on other artists Ambassadors will have direct contact with and support from DeviantArt team members when hosting events and challenges, to help their projects thrive.   Are you ready to be a community ambassador? I woke up today to the sound of rain hitting the windows. I peeked through the blind - wow, a vertical wall of water! It felt like salvation after weeks of relentless heatwave. I don't particularly like summer; here in the UK, the heat is worse than in many places, because the humidity makes every step feel like waddling in soup. But now, the air is finally crisp and fresh, and I can breathe again. The light changes too; the sun is lower in the sky, casting dramatic shadows that make everything look like a painting. What's that? Sweaters? Well, duh! Sweaters are the best! I love the texture of wool, and my cardigans still carry a faint smell of the laundry detergent from when I retired them. (Also, thick socks. Also flat caps!) Fall just seems to be the most comfortable time of year for me - cozying up with books, drinking hot chocolate, and watching the leaves turn from green to yellow and then to orange. And the food! Pumpkin spice everything! Extra cinnamon, warm soups

[DEVIATION] Tiny, round, and with absolutely squishable cheeks, it's no wonder why hamsters are adored and have inspired many de-de-de-de-dances and memes. Nibble by nibble, Alicante-Design will teach you how to create a furry friend of your very own.   [DEVIATION] Step 1 Start with a soft oval shape for the head. [DEVIATION] Step 2 Add a slightly larger circle under the body. Round. [DEVIATION] Step 3 Place two half-circles on top of the head for the ears. [DEVIATION] Step 4 Place two small circles at the bottom of the body for the feet. Hammies really just are a series of orbs, huh? [DEVIATION] Step 5 Lightly sketch guiding crosshairs across the head to help you place the face symmetrically. [DEVIATION] Step 6 Add two big eyes, a tiny nose, and a small mouth.
