Finding the New Green
Damp earth opens to the light today,
Dark and heavy with the scent of old frost.
I walk the fence in the early mist,
Finding the new green in the dirt.
Mossy velvet grips the north side of the oak,
A low, green rug for the beetles to climb.
Mint-light cuts through the new leaves,
Staining the rough bark with a quiet strength.
Sharp spears of grass break the asphalt,
Drinking the cold rain from a Tuesday sky.
Silver ribbons tie the garden to the clouds,
Holding the wild world in a tight, wet knot.
Nothing is missing; the land is whole.
A restless green climbs the stems,
And the slow work of the light has just begun.

Find spring all around you
[DEVIATION]
Spring is so much more than new blossoms and eggs hatching.
A brave wildflower bursting through a crack in the sidewalk. The rumble of far-away thunderstorms. Needing a sweater in the morning but shedding it for a lighter shirt in the afternoon.

To celebrate the season, share a deviation that reflects the feeling of spring for you, whether that’s blooming flowers, shifting light, lush landscapes, soft textures, or small everyday details that feel full of new life.

Join DeviantArt's Ambassador program!
DeviantArt is proud to announce a new opportunity for deviants to contribute to the community at a deeper level! The Ambassador program is designed to give deviants a chance to bring artists together, offer ways for artists to hone their skills or try new things, and help shape the future of the community.
Deviants eligible to participate in the Ambassador program are those who are co-founders or top contributors of official DeviantArt groups or affiliated groups. There are many factors that determine whether or not deviants might be a good fit for the Ambassador program, but all potential ambassadors should:
Frequently run or organize community events
Routinely be active participants in their community
Consistently encourage and cheer on other artists
Ambassadors will have direct contact with and support from DeviantArt team members when hosting events and challenges, to help their projects thrive.

Earth Day Challenge: Measure a Tree!
Shh… Mama Earth doesn’t know we’re measuring her tallest green kids! Grab some cardboard, a coin, and a string, and help us estimate the height of a tree—no climbing required. Celebrate Earth Day with a little DIY science and a lot of fun!
✂️ Build Your Clinometer
You’ll need: cardboard, protractor, ruler, pencil, string, tape, small weight (like a coin).
Quick steps:
Trace your protractor onto cardboard
Mark a few angles (0°, 45°, 90° is enough!)
Cut it out and poke a hole at the center
Tie string through the hole and attach a coin
✅ When you hold it up, the string should hang straight down

DevMeet in Los Angeles: Launchpad Recap
A few steps from the famous Hollywood Walk of Fame, deviants gathered for a DeviantMeet at historic EastWest Studios for an evening of inspiration, community, and art appreciation.
Artwork provided by the community was hung on panels for all arriving guests to see while a curated playlist set the vibes for an energetic event. Toward the back walls were snacks and exclusive DeviantArt merch like hats, stickers, and 25th anniversary coloring books.

Fan Art Friday: Heated Rivalry
This week’s Fan Art Friday is turning up the heat with Heated Rivalry, the beloved hockey romance by Rachel Reid. From stolen glances across the rink to years of tension that refuse to cool, this story gave us one of the most unforgettable rivalries in romance.
The chemistry between Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov is electric, complicated, and impossible to ignore. What starts as competition on the ice becomes something far more intense behind closed doors. Whether you fell for the sharp banter, the secret meetings, or the slow unraveling of two guarded hearts, this series has given fandom plenty to scream about.
Time to celebrate your favorite moments, scenes, and interpretations through fan art!

Rivalries this heated don’t just stay on the page -- they leap off it. This week, we’re celebrating the art, the angst, and the sparks that make Heated Rivalry
