DeviantArt is proud to announce a new opportunity for deviants to contribute to the community at a deeper level! The Ambassador program is designed to give deviants a chance to bring artists together, offer ways for artists to hone their skills or try new things, and help shape the future of the community.  Deviants eligible to participate in the Ambassador program are those who are co-founders or top contributors of official DeviantArt groups or affiliated groups. There are many factors that determine whether or not deviants might be a good fit for the Ambassador program, but all potential ambassadors should: Frequently run or organize community events Routinely be active participants in their community Consistently encourage and cheer on other artists Ambassadors will have direct contact with and support from DeviantArt team members when hosting events and challenges, to help their projects thrive.   Are you ready to be a community ambassador? New Challenge for @DevNews Home for the Holidays A Contest Challenge to depict being Home for the Holidays, whether it is a Christmas Lighting on the Square of a Town, a gathering at someone's house in a festive setting, a neighborhood light display, a Holiday Party, greeting family for a celebration, sled riding with friends, ice skating amid Holiday decor or just lounging in front of a warm fire, how do you interpret being Home for the Holidays? Submit your entry to the Home for the Holidays folder at @DevNews ~ must be PG and undoubtedly Safe for Work! There is a legend in Nuremberg that says that Elisenlebkuchen was invented by a gingerbread baker around 1720. For a long time, Elisenlebkuchen was said to have healing properties. The legend of the gingerbread baker's daughter The legend has its origins in the illness of a gingerbread baker's daughter. He had lost his wife to a serious illness some time before. Now, as you can imagine, he was very worried about losing his daughter too. No doctor could help. In his great despair, he remembered that oriental spices were said to have healing properties. Since he had always used many of these oriental spices in his gingerbread bakery, he took courage again and came up with a new recipe for his gingerbread. This was made without flour and only with the highest quality
