Seller Tips with OHH: Be consistent! by openhighhat, journal
Seller Tips with OHH: Be consistent!
Hi! I’m @openhighhat , but you can call me OHH.
I joined DeviantArt over 20 years ago and I’ve been sharing my original art and stories for over a decade. Since I began selling my Mature and NSFW collections in 2024, I’ve built a supportive fan community and learned what works and what doesn’t. Now I’m sharing my experience and seller tips to help other creators just like you grow their business on DA.
______
Tip 3: Be Consistent!
This tip links into my last tip about posting frequently.
One of the best ways to grow an audience is to be consistently active. People are more willing to invest in an artist who is consistently active. If they know you post on Wednesday and Friday, they will come to your page on Wednesday and Friday.
If you just post at random, then they will not actively seek you out, but just wait for your work to appear on a feed mixed in with other artist’s work. Consistency and frequency are the keys to growth!
Tip 4: Engage with your Audience

Four browse settings to configure your feed
Your DeviantArt feed is as unique as you are, and to ensure you discover exactly the types of devious art you come across, you'll want to make sure your settings are tuned to your exact specifications.
In your settings, you'll find browsing, the area dedicated to defining what art you might want to see more of, and what you'd prefer hidden in your browsing experience.

Browse Settings
At the top of the page, you'll find a handful of controls that shape how you view and move through the site. Choose how deviations open (full screen or zoomed out), set your preferred thumbnail count per page, and decide whether to scroll infinitely or click through pages of results.
You can also turn on Invisible Browsing, which means you won't show up in other deviants' visitor widgets when you check out their profiles.
Core Members get a few extra options here, including more thumbnails per page.

Safe Mode keeps your feed largely free of sensitive content

Buyers can now find your custom art in the Shop by Team, journal
Buyers can now find your custom art in the Shop
Originals are DeviantArt's custom order system: buyers request work, you create it, payment is handled upfront, and everything is delivered through your Studio. See how it works.
Buyers are now coming to the DeviantArt Shop to find artists for custom work. Everything from characters, portraits, YCHs, reference sheets, and more. They're searching for it, and your listing is how they find you. Submit your Original offering to appear in the Shop, so interested buyers can make their next favorite purchase!

Buyers can filter by base price, sort by time or relevance, and search by keyword or type. The more descriptive your listing, the easier it is to find.
A few tips to help your listing stand out:
Use a title that clearly describes what you're offering.
Make your primary image a strong example of your work and what buyers can
Berlin DevMeet Recap by Team, journal
Berlin DevMeet Recap
On July 16th, deviants gathered in Berlin for an evening that none of us wanted to end. (Literally, they had to drag us out of the beautiful event space!)
The setting alone set the tone: a 150-year-old blacksmith forge, alight with a gentle garden, wooden architecture, and an air of reverent history meets modern warmth. The space itself was tucked away like a creative hideout waiting to be discovered. And whenever a bunch of artists meet up, lots of art is sure to be created, and that's exactly what happened.
Before the event even started, the energy could be felt by everyone. Out in the garden, @mjdo-x took to the canvas on easels and created artwork that stopped people in their tracks.
[DEVIATION]
Artists traveled from near and far, filling the space with great conversation, and making the night feel less like meeting for the first time and more like the natural offline extension of our vibrant community.

Going global: Say hallo to DeviantArt in German! by Team, journal
Going global: Say hallo to DeviantArt in German!
DeviantArt has always been home to artists from around the world. In April, we announced Spanish as our first supported language, and we decided not to stop there.
Today, we’re introducing the second supported language: Deutsch, so that German-speaking creators can explore and participate in the community more easily. Willkommen!
How to switch your language
Navigate to your Profile dropdown in the top-right navigation bar.
Click Language.
Select your preferred language and click Confirm.
[DEVIATION]
While not everything may be translated into German just yet, more will be added over time.
Deviants' deviations or comments will not be localized into other languages. They remain in the language they are originally created in.
Now that we’ve done Spanish and German, it’s kind of hard to stop, so we’ll keep adding more languages in the future.

Now many of those great ideas are ready to come to life – small changes that will make a real difference in how you create, sell, and manage your work.
Keep an eye here for updates as new features launch. ETAs are subject to change, but we'll keep this page up-to-date, so you always know what's coming. Keep checking back!

Mobile web is going green by Team, journal
Mobile web is going green
For a while now, DeviantArt on the mobile web has been green with envy that only the light and dark themes were available.
By popular demand, now you can carry the classic DeviantArt green theme on devices in your pocket, emitting the same nostalgic green glow that adorns your desktop experience.
[DEVIATION]
(Artwork featured above: At the border by @Sythgara)
Your themes don't have to be "set it and forget it." Change them like you change your style. Some deviants prefer green or light themes during the day, and then switch to the dark theme at night, for less strain on the eyes. Others settle into their favorite comfy green theme and wear it everywhere.
To enable it, click your avatar to open your profile dropdown, then tap your theme of choice.
Prefer the web app? It also supports all themes, and gives you immediate push notifications for new messages and activity.
It IS easy being green! 💚
