The Lighthouse Attic
The Lighthouse Attic The ghost of old Gibraltar Point, rumor has it, has now taken possession of the Lighthouse proper and neighboring grounds: as nowadays his keeper's cottage - with it's attic - no longer exists. Dry, dry: Parched like a bleached bone, like the femur the following minder found; dug-up, at the time without motive, found; - near the attic - when it existed. Thirsty, the ghost walks so thirsty, sailor-like: fresh on shore-leave, like a soldier; long drunk on memory, solace found: a bootlegged bottle - in the attic - if it existed. The ghost of old Gibraltar Point, now taken forgranted, walks up the stairs dryly, now taken true and told, again and again: exists and thirsts: what was lost, - like the attic - what still persists? Time to play (chapter 1)
"Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear Lilly, happy birthday to you!" 11-year-old Lilly Laurenson sat up straight in bed when she heard this song outside her door. It was no ordinary day today because Lilly turned 11 years old. The door opened and her mother, father and her older sister Bertha Laurenson stepped in. In her hand, her mother held a large chocolate cake and her father held two large packages. Bertha was also holding a package and it could be seen that she had bought it at Toys R Us. "Happy birthday darling!" said mother Harriet, kissing Lilly on her head. Lilly smiled happily, she was so eager to eat her cake and to have her presents opened. "Now you want to open your presents and eat some cake?" asked Lilly's father, who apparently could read her mind. "Of course i want, give me them!" exclaimed Lilly. Lilly snatched her mother's present and tore it up in less than two minutes. In the package there was a board game, chess. "Oh, thank you mom!"
