Upset Nightmare Moon (Redux)

"One thousand years. A thousand years have passed. A thousand years we have waited for this day we would return."
Nightmare Moon lay there, sobbing to herself.
"They want only their princess, and their sun. They still don't appreciate our beautiful night. They don't want us. They don't even know who we are. We should have stayed on the moon."
. . .
"But... there was that purple unicorn. She had the aura of our despised sister on her. She alone knew who we are, and of our prophecy. We should follow her and see what else she knows..."

One year ago, I posted my first completely new image: Upset Nightmare Moon. The response was admittedly a bit underwhelming, but it set me on the path of focusing on the alicorns. The anniversary of the posting of Upset Nightmare Moon coincided with my 100th original image. It seemed only fitting to go back and redo this image, and draw it as I imagined a year ago. With one exception: I originally intended for her back legs to be splayed out. However, I felt that doing so in this image would actually detract from the emotional impact.
So for my 100th not-traced image, I give you: Upset Nightmare Moon (Redux).

For a bit of fun, I have also uploaded the first revision of Upset Nightmare Moon. I went through seven revisions before the final image that was ultimately posted.
