Tutorial: Path Operations and Transparency

Description

Please read all of the description first.

This is a tutorial video that demonstrates how to work with path operations and transparency in Inkscape. It uses Chrysalis' wing as its example, but could easily be applied to Cadance's veil too. I don't know how obvious this sort of thing is to others, but it took me a while to work out. I also do not promise this the only way or the best way to do it. It is simply a way to do it.

Download the ZIP file to get a PDF copy of the tutorial, MP4 video, the finished PNG vector and an Inkscape SVG file.
A copy of the MP4 video without the script is available on my SkyDrive account.
Queen Chrysalis is available here: completed vector and resources.

Reuse: You may not repost or redistribute the ZIP archive or any file contained within. You may reuse the PNG or SVG files subject to my "Resources" terms.
Addendum: Further usage has revealed that in some cases, the objects may not align as expected or demonstrated. If this happens to you, try using masking instead.

The Queen Chrysalis character and My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic are the property of Lauren Faust and/or Hasbro and/or others.

Used it for this.

Thank you so much for making this tutorial.  It would have been a nightmare trying to figure out how to get the transparencies to look correct.
