It's a commonly depicted scenario.  Your exceptional execution skills aside, what I like about your take that sets it apart from similar depictions is where we usually see a globe of protection, here, you allow the fire itself to define the boundaries of the magical barrier.  Great interpretation!  Also, there is something more going on than just the generic face off; there's a story.  We have steps leading up as well as a passage way descending further into the depths, along with the subtle, skeletal remains of a previously failed attempt to safely venture through.

Current events, past events, this location has seen a history of action which gives the entire portrayal depth and dynamics.
Creativity in all aspects shows intelligence behind the art.  I love it!
