Canson 11"x14" paper
Copic Sketch markers, Prismacolor markers, Letraset Aqua markers, Sakura Micron fineliner pens, DecoColor Opaque White paint marker

That's a really cool effect that you've done in the background. How did you get those brown spots to look gritty like that? I've tried for textures like that before, but I've never figured it out. Also, awesome hair.

It's been a little while, but if I remember correctly, I laid out the background tone(s) and base shadows, then took the same mix of colors to dot on top and blend randomly. A lot of getting texture with markers is just lots of layering and experimenting until you get what you want.

I love markers too! they're fun!
How did you scan this in? with a scanner or did you take a picture!
It looks really nice, so I'm just wondering. Sometimes scanning can be a bit difficult....

I have a clunky old HP scanner that I use for everything. It works well but it's not big enough to do anything much bigger than 8x10s....so if I'm scanning an 11x14 like this, I have to scan in parts and then combine in photoshop....which is really painful >-<
