Mayhem by 6th-gear Mayhem by 6th-gear
Well, this happened at the second event of the new "Super Turismo" category in Costa Rica. Basically the end of it all is to have affordable cars racing under a low budget, looking to get at least 30 cars and have great racing with a lot of overtakes and all...

Sadly the goal of the category is far to be achieved and for some it's the beginning of the end of our car racing :(

For this one I was lucky to be on the right spot when the crash ocurred, got the cover on the most important newspaper here. Had to upload it.

Here's the entire sequence of the accident, about 40 shots in a row:

BAM! You can almost hear the sound! A cross between Photography > Transportation and Photojournalism > Sports, Mayhem by *6th-gear is an intense depiction of what happened that day "at the second event of the new "Super Turismo" category in Costa Rica", according to both the photo and the photographer. Congrats! ( Suggested by jomet and Featured by Helewidis )

I won't lie—this has GOT to be my most favorite picture of an accident I've ever seen, before. So, I'm going to explain things by categories: Vision, Originality, Technique and Impact.

For Vision: I absolutely adore it, see. You can see exactly what is happening, as it is happening, even! That's highly IMPRESSIVE, too!

Originality: How much more ORIGINAL can you GET?! I mean, honestly—the picture is perfect. It was lucky, as you mentioned, that you happened to be sitting in the right spot at the time of the accident. Luck plays a big part in the originality here, for if you had been sitting elsewhere, there's that possibility that you'd have never gotten the photo in the first place, y'know? Or the possibility of it not being as good as this was.

Technique: The technique? I know nothing of techniques in photography. But I do know that it's hard to capture a photo that's in motion without everything looking distorted and odd—so I give you kudos on accomplishing a clean, crisp photo of something in motion, such as this accident.

And, lastly...

Impact: This picture brings the accident to you—and pretty much places you right at the scene. It creates something of a dramatic feel to it, y'know? But yeah, I love it. I love how you can see, in plain sight, the debris flying up from the car rolling and hitting the banking there. I love how you can see the details and the decals and the sponsors on the vehicles and how the kicked up dust from the crash is visible in the background, creating more drama and bringing more of the action to you without you actually having to be there. It's... It's brilliant. Perfect.

Good job on this---and congratulations on the Daily Deviation! <3

Apart from the thrill of the actuall racing and all the noises and smells arround you at a race track there is one thing that will get your heart racing as much as any driver on the track.Yes you guessed it the contact in motor racing you cannot beat the reactions of twisted metal.I looked at the links any the one where you but all the images together well to me it looks asif the grey car in the middle was trying to get his way down the center and couldnt hold things steady,That little MKI Golf had no where to run no where to hide...I hope in the events of this collision there were no casualties:)

Ah, that's fantastic!
The public transport is very good, so just move around by bus and mostly the tram.
The Anne Frankhouse is good but very busy.
Madame Touso is very nice. You really need to do i trip by boat around the ''grachten'', the waters, in Amsterdam!
Just go in side streets to see the beautiful old houses.
Also the plaza's are very nice. The Dam and the Rembrandplein and the Museumplein.
There is also the Van Gogh museum and the Rembrandt museum, those are also very beautiful.
And there are a lot of shops, cofeeshops, the red light district, like you can say that you have seen that to other friends haha and much more.

Also you can go by metro to the Amsterdam Arena, that is the football stadium of Ajax, very nice, you can arange a guided trip inside the stadium and you can also check the museum! If you like football that's a very nice thing to do, and maybe the players train outside of the stadium.

There is just so much to see, but just walk around and enjoy the trams, all the bicycles and the beauty of the old and free Amsterdam...
I love it, hope you see the beauty in it to...

In the weekend it is good partying all over Amsterdam...

I never felt myself scared ore something in Amsterdam.
Amsterdam is so nice and is such a free place..
Just watch your bag like in every city.. There is no difference with other big city's...

That's what I love about wrecks like that. They look super intense, but everyone comes out alright... so then you don't feel so bad about thinking it looks cool :)

Well we have had drivers winning at IMSA and doing respectable appearances on races like Nürburgring 24 hours with the official Lexus team between a lot of others who have accomplished titles and wins all over the world :p

Accidents happen everywhere! hehe

Glad you like it
