...Welp...

Fri Jul 13, 2018, 10:44 AM
Someone broke into my car last night. Complete smashed in the rear window. Hell of a way to start a Friday...

From the looks of things, whoever broke into the car was after an empty suitcase that was in the back seat of our car, but left it when they realized it was empty, and nothing else is missing. We've also learned that they broke into ANOTHER car that was in our apartment complex garage, but we're not sure if anything was taken.

We filed a report and a claim, and repairs will take place on Monday, but the biggest issue is that I work tomorrow and there's no guarantee as to if I'll be able to arrange a ride or not... I've already contacted my boss to let her know what's happened and why I may or may not be there tomorrow... but still, this is just unbelievable...

I'll be lurking and drowning my sorrows in chips and salsa, so don't expect much in the way of replies... I'm just too stressed out about this... onion sad

About the Sonic Forces RP...

Wed Jul 11, 2018, 12:15 PM
For those who were interested, PLEASE READ THIS!

This RP will be treated as an AU in the sense that it will not follow the exact story line of the game. Yes, the premise will still be the same, of course, with Eggman and Infinite taking over most of the world and the Resistance fighting back and all, you get the idea.

One quick thing I wanted to run by everyone who is interested in the basic idea I had to get the ball rolling, at least. The idea is that since Emra is Sonic's sister, she'd be a big target of the Eggman Empire to take out because... well, she's Sonic's sister. She'd feel like she has a lot of expectation on her by the Resistance and by civilians too, so she'd be a bit more... broodier than she normally is. It's just a rough idea, and this IS an AU so if anyone has any other ideas please feel free to run them by me in the comments and we can work something out.

On a final note, expect the Starter to be up sometime tomorrow, since I work this afternoon. Toodles~!

A Quick Promo

Fri Jul 6, 2018, 11:16 PM
I'm just gonna do a quick promo/ad for my Etsy shop, mostly because I haven't had any sales yet and I'm trying to find buyers... And I'm in a position where I need to make a little extra cash in between paychecks... So if you guys could maybe spread the word, that would help me out quite a bit...

Better/Writing

Sun Jul 1, 2018, 4:45 PM
So my husband and I have recovered. He actually recovered a lot faster than I did, so I'm only just now feeling well enough to really do more than just sleep all day... But anyway, whatever we had we managed to beat, and we're back to our regular schedule.

On that note I'm a bit stuck on writing... since posting "Close Cut" I've been fresh out of ideas for any new ficlets to write... especially for this one that I've been planning for some time after finding it again. I'm considering rethinking the whole thing since the original plot is pretty weak, but the whole underlying plot is what I want to try and keep in it... anyway, I've been trying to think of how to do that, but I have no idea...

Sick Household

Thu Jun 28, 2018, 2:17 PM
Basically what the title implies. I've been kind of sick from late last night, mostly with a headache/stomach ache, and this morning pretty much consisted of me sleeping until noon... but now my husband is sick.

He texted me earlier and asked him to pick him up from work early, which he's been given the okay for, because now HE has a headache and apparently didn't sleep very well last night. And thinking on it, that's true because I had to wake him up this morning with my alarm (we have two alarms, his--which he gets up to shower for--and mine, which I use to get up and tell him it's time to get out if he takes too long) so he was almost late to work this morning.

But anyway, today is just gonna be us resting... maybe sleeping more... whatever. This sucks.

Pirate Update

Tue Jun 26, 2018, 11:14 AM
Okay, so, first off! I found out that the replica pistol I'm trying to sell is actually NOT a flintlock. It's actually a cap and ball pistol, which is essentially the more modern version of the flintlock. (And when I say modern, think more Civil War era rather than Pirate era...)

And anyway, I MAY have found a buyer... Sort of. Turns out, one of my coworker's boyfriend is a huge antique gun nerd and goes to shows to buy/sell them, and there's a show coming up. He took a look at the pistol and offered to take it to the show and see if anyone would be interested. So I said, "hell yeah, go for it". So that's where it is right now and we'll see if it sells... (really hoping it does!)

On another somewhat pirate-y note, my husband and I played a pirate board game yesterday evening, and he absolutely CREAMED me. He freaking tricked me the first round, and the second round he just got all the luck... But even so, well played, my love, well played...

*Sigh...*

Thu Jun 21, 2018, 2:17 PM
Today has been kind of a bummer for me... I've got some things I want to sell that I'm not using anymore, and while I was able to sell some of them for a good amount, the most expensive thing is proving to be harder to get a good price for...

It's a modern flintlock pistol that I have had for years. It's in mint condition and has never been fired once (obviously), and it's worth close to two hundred dollars... so that what I'm hoping to get for it, at most... but so far the highest offer I got for it was a little over seventy...

So yeah... it's proving to be one of those days where nothing works out right...

Ah, the Pains of being a Writer...

Sun Jun 17, 2018, 9:58 PM
You get into the mood to write, you sit down at the computer, and set to work. You start typing up your short story, and it's going great! You've got it planned out from start to finish, and you reach the height of the excitement, the highlight of the entire piece, and you're fingers are flying as you build up to it...

Then it happens, the hero and the villain are finally face to face, and the tension is the air is as high as it can possibly be! You start a new paragraph to allow for a bit of dialogue from the villain to the hero...

And then your whole project grinds to a halt because you can't think of something witty for the villain to say.

...
FFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUU--!

Busy as a Bee

Thu Jun 14, 2018, 10:21 AM
Oooh man... I've been super busy lately! Mostly with work... like this last Saturday I ended up working late because someone actually ended up passing away on the train bringing them to the port and the train was delayed due to that... Then just yesterday I went through the driver's training course our company has so that I can become a driver for the carpool vans.

Between work days I've been trying to make more necklaces... and doing it badly because I STILL apparently cannot count! CURSE YOU! One of the ones I made and posted recently, called "Amber", is very short... I mean, it fits my neck and was supposed to be choker style anyway, but I have a thinner neck than most people so I have some concerns... I may end up taking it apart and fixing it later, but that requires buying more carnelian beads, which may end up being pricey...

And then another one I made recently, I added too many beads to one side so I have to take that apart too and redo it... which is gonna be a pain because the beads are tiny and thus require really tiny thread... I'll have to figure out how to make it work.

But yeah, I've been pretty busy...

Oy vey...

Fri Jun 8, 2018, 12:33 PM
Ugh... so I've been trying to get the motivation to draw this picture that I've been hoping to draw for a couple days now... but once I got started on it my motivation just... went poof.

Like, I dunno what it is... I feel like the drawing won't turn out well, or don't have it planned out well enough... I dunno, it's odd.

I hate this...

Maybe I should just put it aside and try a different piece.

ANOTHER Trip Down Memory Lane

Wed Jun 6, 2018, 11:24 PM
So... Digging through some really old junk, I found two more of my old-as-shite stories... like... REALLY old. Long before I even wrote the stories in my journals... like these were two that were supposed to be in the series, but never made it? So like scrapped stories, I guess?

Anyway... I'm thinking of doing brief rewrites of them if anyone is interested, though they'd be pretty short. Kind of like a brief one or two part ficlet, or something along those lines...

Would anyone be interested or care to read them?

UPDATE
I figured I'd at least give everyone an idea of what the stories are about, lol...

The first one is about Garin's spirit and body becoming separated from each other when Scarblade uses some black magic on him, and though the crew can hear him, they can't see him... all except for Sea Cat.

The second one is about how Sea Cat's hair got so short.

Blast From the Past

Thu May 31, 2018, 5:15 PM
Okay, so... WOW.

Many, many years ago, back before I typed up my stories, I wrote them all down in a series of journals that I bought. There are like five or six of them... but anyway, I'd loan these stories out to friends back in high school because they really liked reading them, and sometimes they'd take them home to read, which was no big deal. But one of my friends had two little sisters, one of whom was a spoiled f*cking brat. This sister tore off the front cover of the first journal in the series when my friend took it home, not realizing it belonged to someone else. My friend was super apologetic, and we made her sister pay me $15, which was how much the journal cost when I bought it.

Anyway, I was super bummed that the journal was damaged, and basically taped it back together, but a friend of my family, who is an artist/art teacher, offered to fix it with a special paper glue he uses in his classes. Well, I gave it to him to fix, and he took it home... then promptly lost track of it. He promised he'd eventually find it for me, but after years and years, it seemed like it was impossible...

But just recently he gave me a call, saying he'd actually FOUND it while going through some things he was getting rid off! I can't even begin to tell you how happy I was! I went to his place right away and picked it up, and though it's still in really rough shape, I'm just glad to have it back!

These were some of the first stories I ever, ever, EVER wrote, and they're cringey as all hell, but wow... what a blast from the past! It's great to have the complete series again! I'm kind of inspired to do a few rewrites... though to be honest, "Voyage of the Secret" and "Double Crossbones", are technically rewrites of two of the stories that are in this journal anyway...

Worn Out

Tue May 29, 2018, 5:22 PM
Phew... Basically what the title says, I'm worn out. Between work, making necklaces, and trying to draw and write, my energies are just... depleted.

I've been getting a lot of new necklaces done, and if not done, I've been planning out new ones to make with a lot of the spare beads and pendants I have. And I've recently tried to get a few drawings finished in between pieces, though again, I'm just... super tired after doing so much... and I don't want to take a break because I get too bored or antsy...

It's a real pickle...

Anyway, on a final note, I should mention that I plan to sell some of the necklaces I've been posting, once I get a shop on Etsy made up. Not all of them, just some of them, and depending on which necklace it is, the price will vary. But if anyone is interested in one, send me a note, if you want, and we'll talk.

My Dad Almost Made Me Lose My Job

Wed May 16, 2018, 11:23 PM
Wow. Just...
WOW.

Okay, so... this is kind of hilarious. My job (which is seasonal) started up again, and today was my first day. I almost didn't make it into the season because I hadn't received word from my boss, asking me if I wanted to come back. Eventually, I managed to touch base with him and got my paperwork in order at the last minute. I thought with some of the newer changes that were coming this year, that maybe I was just overlooked over whatever... but something felt a bit off. And today I finally found out what the confusion was about.

So, I arrive at work, and see one of my good friends (who is also an old friend of the family) in the parking lot. So, I say hello... and her jaw, DROPS. Like mouth was stuck wide open for several seconds as I walked over. I thought she was just being silly, but it turns out, that she thought I wasn't coming back--NOT because of my last minute paperwork--but because my dad told a bunch of my coworkers (who are either friends or acquaintances of his), that I had a permanent job elsewhere and was not planning to return to the company.

I was just as shocked as she was, but it all started to make complete sense. My boss always calls or emails about a month before the season starts to check if we're coming back or not, but because of what my dad was telling people, just assumed that I wasn't coming back. I basically told my friend to spread word among my other coworkers who know my dad, that I don't see often, to spread the word that I didn't have another job, and to take everything my father says with a very, very, VERY tiny grain of salt.

I don't know whether to be pissed or to find it hilarious. I mean, it was kind of funny, seeing so many of my coworkers and friends shocked to see me and basically saying the same line of "I thought you had another job!" over and over. In an annoying kind of way... but still, it was funny! While at the same time I'm royally peeved that my dad would interfere and lie like that... it honestly makes me believe that he did it on purpose... Which I wouldn't put past him, honestly...

Well, anyway, despite all that, my first day back for the season was great! Really well paced and the new changes make things run even smoother! Looking forward to the rest of the season! Ciao!

Dramatic Reading Part 2.

Wed May 9, 2018, 12:45 PM
Okay! So the poll has yielded some results, and here's what's going to happen;

The first story that will be done is "Cat Out of Hell", which was personally requested by a friend who wants to voice a character in it. This means, of course, that we'll need more voices for it. The characters in this story (and whether they need voicing) are listed below;
  • Narrator--Myself
  • Garin--Open
  • Jacques--Open
  • Sea Cat--Myself (unless anyone REALLY wants to do it, we'll talk)
  • Talak--Open
  • Langley--RL-182
  • Additional Voices/Backup Characters--Open
Once you've decided you who want to do, send me a NOTE, then we'll talk over lines, recording, and maybe even some rehearsals over Discord! :)

The other two stories that were requested the most via Poll, are "Revenge is a Kiss", and "Pirate's Code, Part 1-5". Same procedure I mentioned above applies to these two, however, for Pirate's Code, I'll have check in with the friend who I wrote the story for, since it was a gift, and features some of her characters. I'll post another Journal later on once I've contacted her and made sure it's okay with her!

That's all for now! Remember! If you want to voice one of the characters in the list above for "Cat Out of Hell", please send me a NOTE! Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you guys!

Sonic Drabble Ideas/Prompts

Sat May 5, 2018, 8:38 PM
I really want to write some drabbles for my Sonic characters, but I need ideas! If anyone has any ideas, prompts, or scenarios they'd like to suggest, it would be a huge help to me!

If anyone reading this doesn't know what a drabble is, it's basically a one-shot, or a real short story, not a really long plot or multi-part story. So please bear that in mind when you suggest something for me to write.

(P.S. Anyone who is still interested in the Dramatic Readings, please go here for more information: Dramatic Reading...? )

Dramatic Reading...?

Thu May 3, 2018, 12:24 AM
I really enjoy them... so, I figured why not do some myself? Maybe...?

I'm planning to go about it one of two ways; the first would be just me doing a dramatic reading of a story I've written of my watchers' choice. The second would be I read as the narrator, with friends/watchers doing the voices of characters in the story.

For the second option, I'd need people to send my recordings of their voice reading lines from whatever story of mine is being done, then I'd put them into one audio file and then post it either onto my Tumblr or YouTube Channel. Would anyone be interested in this?

Anyway, regardless, let me know what story of mine you guys would like to hear a dramatic reading of! Once I have a few ideas I'll post a Poll for you guys to vote on. And if you're interested in doing a voice, be sure to send me a Note, and we'll talk once the poll has been posted!

Well, there goes my mood...

Sun Apr 29, 2018, 10:51 PM
My old abuser decided to call me up tonight... over and over and over and over and fucking over! I didn't answer, of course, and had to turn off my phone...

But yeah, anyway... my whole mood is gone tonight. I was going to either draw or try to come up with new ideas for new necklaces, but that's all bust now thanks to that bastard...

I'm gonna go for now and try to forget this shit AGAIN... and maybe have a good, cool, stiff drink...

Playing too much Monster Hunter?

Thu Apr 26, 2018, 4:31 PM
No such thing.

Lol, anyway, the reason for the title is that I had a weird/funny af dream last night.

In the dream, my husband and one of our squad buddies were living in the Monster Hunter universe, and one day we came across a baby Deviljho that had was badly emaciated and likely abandoned. And instead of killing it, we decided to take it in (well, mostly ME but still...) and raise it. We named it Pickles (many of you will understand that reference I'm sure) and he was just the derpiest little thing you'd ever seen. Like that may have been the reason it was abandoned in the first place kind of derpy. He crashed through the front door EVERY single time, he'd plop onto your lap and sleep there despite weighing a ton, and when he got old enough we could ride him. So it basically turned into a Monster Hunter Riders dream...

Anyway, it was weird. And it made my husband laugh when I told it to him, so I thought I'd share. Toodles!
