“Is that all you got for me?! Huh?!” Beelzemon roared, burying his claws into the DeviDramon’s chest, causing the large dragon to scream in pain. At this, the large viral smirked widely and let out an almost sick laugh.

“Whatsa matter? Havin’ some chest pains?!” he asked. The DeviDramon responded by firing a firey blast out of its muzzle, and Beelzemon leapt back out of the way, his boots creating a subtle puff of dust as he landed a few feet away.

“Now that’s more like it!” he said with another grin. “Alright, bring it ugly! I’m gonna enjoy this!”

“Beelzemon! Beelzemon wake up!”

“Hm?!” Beelzemon’s eyes snapped open to find Cleopamon sitting over him, a worried, and somewhat frightened look on her face. He blinked away the remaining sleep from his eyes and sat up slowly.

“What’s the matter, Cleo?” he asked, looking around to find what had frightened her.

“You sounded like…” Cleopamon paused. “You sounded like you were having a nightmare.”

“Who me?” Beelzemon asked, popping his shoulders as he looked at Cleopamon, who seemed hesitant to make eye contact with him. He frowned a bit in worry and put a hand to her chin gently. “Hey, what’s wrong?”

“…You were talking in your sleep again,” she said.

Beelzemon’s eyes widened and he withdrew his hand, burying his face in it a moment later. Cleopamon frowned and shuffled closer to him, gently taking his hand into hers.

“I’m sorry, Cleo. I don’t know why I keep having these dreams… I’ve been trying to put my past behind me, but it just seems to keep coming back!”

“Beelzemon you’re not that Digimon anymore.” Cleopamon said, gently putting her hand to his cheek. “Don’t let these dreams make you think otherwise.”

“I know, Cleo…” Beelzemon said, then clenched his fists. “But sometimes I just can’t seem t—”

“Sssh…” Cleopamon put her other hand to Beelzemon’s face. “Try not to talk about it anymore. Lets just go back to sleep.”

Beelzemon’s fists clenched and unclenched. “Cleo… I…” he looked at her in a sobered way. “Let’s get one thing straight, Cleo; I'm not one for sappy stuff n’ all, but… I… I…” Beelzemon gave a sigh and his gaze darted to the ground. “I’m… lost.”

“Lost?” Cleopamon tilted her head, not understanding what he meant. Beelzemon swallowed and cleared his throat.

“Yeah… Lost…” he said. “But not like I was before I met you… that… I don’t even want to remember that…”

“Then don’t. Your past doesn’t matter to me.”

“I know Cleo, this isn’t about that. This is different. Its… um…” Beelzemon paused and sighed.
“Just say it, you damn pussymon!” he thought to himself before continuing. “I’m lost because of you… My old life was a lot like a maze with no way out, but after I met you I found my way outta that one and into a new one… but this new maze… Every corner I turn in it leads to you, and I keep goin’ deeper and deeper, and…”

Beelzemon paused again and gently cupped Cleopamon’s face into his hands. “And I’m so completely lost, I hope I never find my way out.”

Cleopamon swallowed as a lump formed in her throat, tears in her eyes, and a blush on her cheeks. She gave a soft smile and closed her eyes, reaching up to touch Beelzemon’s hands, which still gently cupped her face. Beelzemon smiled softly and gently leaned his forehead against Cleopamon’s, before letting out a quiet chuckle.

“Damn, that was so sappy.”

Finally done!!
