DotW | Has It Really Been That Long?

Jasper liked it here in Chandor. Really, he did. He had friends, and there was no shortage of things to do and trouble to get into. But every now and then, he still thought about them. His family. His father, the wolf he admired most. Has it really been months since he'd seen any of them?

Were they even still looking for him?

He was nearly as tall as Dad now; that had to mean he was growing up, right? He was learning every day, growing every day, changing every day. It had scared him at first, the thought of being different... of not being the pup they knew and loved and remembered. But nothing stayed the same forever, did it? That was okay. No matter how old he got, not matter how much time passed, he was still a brother and a son. His father's son.

He was still Jasper, and always would be.

Art? From me?? And me alone???

Jasper being Sage's son wasn't really supposed to be a big reveal or anything like that, lol. I made some parts of his family/history vague only as a fun connect-the-dots thing, and thought it would be clocked immediately (if asked, I would've readily confirmed it XD). I was honestly surprised that no one seemed to have picked up on it, so I rolled with it and scattered hints throughout various rps until I decided to just put it out there So there you have it.

But! That's not the reason I chose to do a solo piece of canon art for like, the first time ever. The real reason is because it's officially been 5 whole years since I first joined DotW way back in 2021, and I wanted to do something special to mark the occasion. This is the longest I've been in any group and it remains a special place to me, full of special people. I look back and still can't believe how long it's been and how far I've come, or that I'm well and truly here after being just a watcher for so long.

I've learned and changed a lot, but in many ways I'm still the same old Ever who loves telling stories. That part won't ever change, I think.

The folks on discord already know what I use, but this piece was done entirely on my phone with only my finger \o/ IbisPaint really is amazing, isn't it? Maybe in another 5 years, I'll do a fullbody piece XD
