4th July, Independence Day in the United States.

I wanted to end 2014 by submitting a photograph of fireworks. Even though these fireworks weren't for New Year's, let us go out with a bang! :la:

I like how professional this looks, i mean if you
are professional then this picture speaks for itself
haha. N0 but really caught it at just the right  time!

It depends on your definition of 'professional'. If I could get paid for taking photographs, I wouldn't mind that! Currently, I do not. :P

Yes, the timing was indeed correct. It is quite tricky capturing fireworks, but when done correctly, it almost looks effortless. :D

Definitely depends on your perspective.

Virginia? I have seen the fireworks from all around DC, but especially VA (easier exit, especially on a motorcycle). :D Very nice shot. Maybe I shall venture out again next 4th of July ;)

Supposedly, yes! :D

You ride a motorcycle? :O

Yeah, that would be great! Unfortunately, I'll miss this year's 4th of July. :noes:

No-I must admit I was always on the back. But, there were no back seats on most of them, so it was like clinging to a rocket- Ducati's mainly :)

Ah, I see. That's a shame! :noes:

Probably better :D It takes years to learn to how to ride those rockets properly.

Yeah, that's very true. :hmm:

Is that from VA? Or from OC? :o You must have had the monopod for this one right?

I really like how the shot turned out (better than mine :'( ) - it's really crisp, no blurring. Though the best thing is probably the composition - with the trail leading up to the fireworks right down the center

In a way it almost looks like a pair of pompoms - which is fitting for the day that marks the day we beat the Brits :la:

It is from VA. I don't think the ones I took at OC turned out any good. Even this one was a lucky one. :P Yeah, I think I had the monopod, and you had the tripod?

It was mostly down to luck.

Thank you!

Pair of pompoms fitting? ;no:

I thought so - didn't see any of the OC storefront lights. I'm pretty sure I offered you the tripod or monopod at OC, you were all :nuu: I know in VA my shots turned out terrible (had no monopod or tripod).

Nah - I think you used the tools you had to capture a moment with a bit of skill

Dude - you guys have pom-poms right? Cheerleaders use them, and it was the day we beat the British - and the fireworks in the hands of firey cheerleaders rah-rah'd upon the sky :la:

Yeah, the ones I took at OC didn't turn out too great. :P

You offered, but I went :nuu: indeed. I thought you had your monopod with you at VA though. :O

We don't have many cheerleaders around these parts. :P

I may have had the monopod, I think I shot video in VA - so mines are hundreds of thousands of moving pictures :icondivaplz:

No one cheers in that cold and damp drear place known as Britain.

Ah yes, that is right. I think you did shoot the video. :D

Pfft, plenty of people cheer, just in a less preppy way!

How does one cheer in a groggy Brit way? :unimpressed:
