Bretland and Surrounding Area (Year 8 AS)

This is a map of Bretland at about 780-820AD. At this moment in time Bretland is undergoing its first civil war, for the first time the Folc are not united as one people. This is such a shock to the Folc that their dating is either BS (Before the Sundering) or AS (After the Sundering)

There are two rival kings in Bretland; Wulfric Osriceson of Brimford, the Ninth king of the Folc and his rival, Edgar Leofwine of Norbury.

To aid his cause Edgar has allied himself with Jarl Hrothvar of Skarnvik, the leader of the Sea-Lord's Accord, a loose alliance of raiders and traders based in Norway, Sweden and Denmark. And who are now raiding the eastern coast of Bretland from the port of Vikstrand.

There is also pressure from the people of Lyonesse as they ever encroach Northwards into the Folc heartlands. Logres and Lyonesse have been formed by settlers from the island of Mona (a Celtic/Irish seafaring culture).
