Well, needless to say, NYAF/NYCC was exhausting and I haven't figured out quite what to say about it in type. (Certainly everyone I've come in contact with in person has heard the various things that happened.) Let's just say that NYC managed to throw a load of poo at us, as usual, but we've once again survived. I'm really wondering... What is with this convention and bad luck for our group??? Hospital visits, car scrape-ups, attacks in parking garages! Considering the fact that we all live here, these events seemed to be reserved for convention time. 2009 was actually the only year that went totally smooth and peaceful. That's one out of the last three, hahahaha~ Not that it will stop us from going again. From what little of the con I actually saw I was pretty pleased with the NYAF/NYCC mashup, but perhaps its just that in my "old" age I have different expectations of a convention and also that I enjoy seeing things that one doesn't see at straight up anime cons (could have lived in the UglyDoll booth, also loved the Tonner one).
Anyway, we're all alive and well after the fact. Unfortunately, we didn't really have time to take pictures due to some last minute sewing disasters, so what we did get was taken quickly in a hallway with terrible lighting. There's only so much one can do with that really! I also look completely exhausted in all the pics, like I couldn't care less and have become obsessed with how small my nose is... We're going to do a proper shoot on November 6th though! Small nose and all!
Footage of the skit that angidawn24 and I did is up. I'm pretty happy with how that came out. Wish we'd had a bit more time though.
Next up... Not sure. I'll probably finally finish my Soma costume and spend some time working on doll things. ^_^
