Is anyone else getting all these tiresome chat requests (and I believe most are just scams/fake) to use your work for a project? They go on to say you will be paid, etc.?
Personally, I am getting several of these chats a day. Most aren't even written in proper English, with proper sentences - they are laughable really. I know I can block or report. But what's the point? Scammers have software that will just create more accounts, once one gets blocked/reported. I just delete them.
C'mon dA. Where's the security? Can we not get on top of this? Dealing with these every single day, is wasting my precious time in my Core account, and becoming bothersome.
Let me know if you are experiencing this too. And if you are, what steps are you taking to protect your account/yourself.
Some background: When I see an exceptional piece of art, I just love it. But what takes it to the next level for me, is if the artist gave it an exceptional title as well. Something poignant, or whimsical, clever, or tongue-in-cheek. Something that gives it the work another dimension to ponder. I'm so disappointed if the artist has called it something mundane and forgettable - or the dreaded, and dull as dishwater - 'Untitled'. Yuck! And well....WHY??? You put so much time and effort in to the art, doesn't that deserve an equally thought out title?
If you haven't noticed - I'm all about titles. I come up with them at the weirdest times and places. So I keep a spreadsheet of them, and when I submit, I peruse the list, fitting the right title to the piece (well in my mind it fits!). And I will admit, this is much easier to do with abstract art, than traditional art.
However, I would like you all to join in on this fun. Send me a clever title you think of. Send me a list. Via a Note. Enter once. Enter often. Do it before May 1st. When the entry period is over, me and my crackpot team of wordsmiths and nerds, will choose two honourable mentions, and one winner. The winner will get a 1 year Core+ membership, paid by moi/me (Canadian, eh?).
But here's the kicker; the what's-in-it-for-me? The winner, And honourable mentions, have to agree to let me use their titles for a submission of my work (you will get credit in the deviation note, below the submission).
If you agree to my terms - Submit your titles in a Note, by midnight, April 30th EST. Good luck to all who enter!!
